change in floorplan
turns out that there will be a change of music on the floors in synthetic culture. the hard dance etc that is usually on the middle floor has now been moved to the loft and a new goth-alternative-retro floor has been added. this is a great shame as there are now two floors pushed into one, not only that the dance floor is a lot smaller!

I was in the club for a couple of hours, then left very dissapointed. I didnt miss a single event last year. This year however, all the energy has left the venue with the tragic change on the middle floor. How many people were on the dancefloor? 3, 4? Upstairs was rammed. If this change is an attempt to improve the turnout, its going in the wrong direction. Syn cult used to be weird and wonderful. Fancy dress almost and buzzing with activity. Its just a shadow of slimelight now, with the addition of metal downstairs. Ruin and Paladin always shook the building to the foundations. Goodbye syn cult, im gonna stick to the clubs I know and love.

Really? Sweet! I really do hope that was a 1 off, coz syn cult has been one of the highlights of last year and seeing it crumble is devastating. We need Ruin and Paladin back. They know what people like and how to pack out a dancefloor with killa tunes!

Been chatting with one of Godlike (GileZ or No Name No Slogan on myspace) on myspace and SC website and met Angus on my way out of the club on Friday (might be out tonight too) and it's looking more than promising. GileZ was saying they are definately getting guest DJ's in and are going to mix in more EBM so it's not so hardcore industrial all night long. They seem very open to suggestions and good guest DJ's and what with the floor swap back to the middle floor I reckon it will mellow back into a decent night in no time.

Checking with Jonathan as well to see if he'd be up for doing an industrial/EBM set after he gets back from his skiing adventures and have put in a very good word about his DJ skills with GileZ so you should do the same about Paladin and Ruin. Think they already have Paladin in mind anyway tho.

Olly is on a mission with the theme nights and is turning out to be open to good suggestions for perking the place back up so all in all if you've got decent ideas in mind you should chuck them into the mix.

Think the February night will be much better, less crowded with the bigger floor back and all in all the start of the way forward and the details will get fine tuned along the way. Don't bail yet Wozman, think it was just a big bump that will get smoothed back down over the next couple of months.

Looking very promising on all counts so far at least........
