Steve Kwiatkowski grew up with music. Starting on the piano at 7 years old, followed by the violin, viola and guitar.

After leaving school he studied on the Pre-Professional Music Course in Lewes, East Sussex and also completing courses in Music Technology and Recording. He then followed his education with time spent at the London College of Music in Ealing, London.

It was in London that Steve really started to get involved in the dance scene and its culture. His first visit to Fabric experiencing DJs like Lee Burridge, Craig Richards, Jacque Lu Cont etc sparked an almost obsession with electronic music. This led to the purchase of some budget decks and mixer but his love remained as a clubber and he shortly sold his set-up to clear some debts.

In 2005 after further clubbing experiences at clubs like Turnmills, The Cross, Heaven etc Steve discovered the exciting dance scene in nearby Brighton. This followed with frequent visits to Honey Club and Zap. It was while out in Brighton that he became acquainted with DJ Dan Ascherl, who soon after became a resident for Sevensins. Dan then taught him pretty much everything he now knows about DJing and here was Steve's real starting point for 'becoming a DJ'.

After purchasing a new set-up in late 2005, Steve practised intensly in his bedroom inspired by the new wave of electro producers coming through. Eventually in April 2006 he was invited to supply a guestmix on Passion FM by Honey resident Adam H after he heard Steve's demo.

His first playout came afew months after for Whipped at Sumo (Brighton) thanks to Pussycat resident Alex Outram. This led to further playouts for Sundelicious at Honey Club and a new night called Electro-Tonic started by Alex. Alex soon decided to make Steve a resident for his new night, and after establishing himself, he was asked to play for a new night called Playroom at Brightons legendary Zap Club.

Two Playrooms later and Steve was taken on as a resident, and 2006 ended on a massive high when he was invited to DJ for the presitigious Pussycat NYE party with a main room slot!

In the space of a year, Steve has gone from learning to mix, to having two airings on Passion FM, playing all the major venues in Brighton, and scoring two residencies!

He continues to progress - honing and perfecting his style. With 2006 now in the bag, 2007 is already well under way and who knows where he'll be in another year!?
