OFFICIAL STATEMENT - LAB4 ARE TO CALL IT A DAY....

The following official statement has come personally from LAB4 and was sent out to those of you on the LAB4 Mailing List before it was uploaded onto this site. We are already being inundated with some really heartfelt emails from all over the world which are much appreciated, and which we are going to do our best to answer all emails eventually. As this is also a topic that seems quite hot on many clubbing websites at present, and so because of this we will be available for comment and interviews over the coming weeks on Harder Faster, Don't Stay In and www.MYSPACE.com/LAB4.

Well, it is definitely long over due that we put finger to keyboard and say Hi! It is unbelievable that we are already at this end of the year and discussing Christmas and New Years Eve gigs again.
The main reason for our contact though is to put pay to a bunch of rumors that seem to be spreading and growing, internet-wide about the future of Lab4……
At the beginning of this year we discussed our intensions of taking 2007 off to be able to recuperate physically and mentally, as well as to take stock of the past 15 years of our lives. We also felt that if we were to continue onwards with our music, that we need to be able to focus for longer without every studio session being disrupted by our gig schedule.
2006 has been a really hard year for us what with the endless delays with the None Of Us Are Saints album followed by being threatened with Legal action over a certain cover version, the Live Extreme productions in Japan and at Brixton Academy and all the extra planning, rehearsing and production work needed to pull off such big shows. After lots of soul searching and reflecting we have decided that it is time to call it a day with Lab4.
We have had an amazing trip with you all over the last 12 years, that has been a constant roller coaster ride of unbelievable highs and lows (mostly highs) that has taken us all round the world and put us in front of crowds of upwards of 15,000 in a single room, but we both know that the time has come to step off and let Lab4 be, and to move on to what ever maybe ahead for us both.
We will be playing live up until NYE which is being discussed with possible promoters at the moment and from there on anyone who is on our mailing list will be informed of what we will be up to into 2007.
We would like to thank everyone who has helped out in the Lab4 camp over the years, particularly Kym for keeping our website running and our calendar full, Ali and Lewy for all their help and support with the record store and for helping out as crew at gigs and Ian Shoesmith for all his help with our artwork. Also, thanks to everyone who has supported us over the years at gigs and via email, it has made all the difference.
Love + Respect
Lab4
BIG THANKS TO ALL AND FURTHER INFO....
We are already being swamped by emails from fans across the world and would just like to extend our thanks to all the heartfelt messages we're recieving.
Just so that everyone knows what's happenning in all areas of LAB4 business central - work will continue on as usual and all contact details will remain as they always have been. The gigs page is now updated between the start of LAB4's Farewell Tour on September 22nd and mid December. Parts of our calendar are in negotiation and so we have only included the fully confirmed gigs, so please continue to check back at this page as it will continue to change and be added to over the coming months. We do still have some dates available, so if your favorite club isn't listed on our gigs page we suggest that you hassle your local promoter to call us for their last chance to book LAB4 in your area. Any booking enquiries can be directed to queen-of-clubs@hotmail.co.uk OR text Kym on 07970 021939…
Queen of Clubs Artist Management & International Touring will also continue to move forward, and will be representing DJ Proteus (Best DJ '04,'05 - HDA), and The *Ting* full time, as well as a number of Internationally touring DJs to the UK throughout the year.

'NONE OF US ARE SAINTS' RELEASED .... AVAILABLE ON FRAGILE ONLINE HERE....
Well it's been the longest wait ever, but the day finally came - the official UK release of LAB4's much anticipated, 'None Of Us Are Saints' - on Resist Music!!!! Available at all good record and music stores including HMV and VIRGIN from today, also available from the fragile online record store on this website.
Please note that other releases of 'None Of Us Are Saints' do exist - a Limited Edition, 1 CD Australian Only Release around eighteen months ago and available only at LAB4 album launch parties in Adelaide, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne (when we thought the UK release was going to be a month later!!) and the Japanese release of the double CD package (released approximately three months ago on AVEX) which has a different cover and features bonus tracks that the UK version does not have.
Many people have asked over the past year or so, why these regions did in fact receive the release so much earlier than the UK - we have always considered the UK version to be the main release, and so wanted to be with the right label and receive credible remixes which unfortunately took much more time than any of us anticipated. Now that the release is here, we hope you enjoy and appreciated it as much as we do :-)
Other stock currently available from the fragile online record store include:
** Released last week 29th May, copies of 12RESISTR64 - the second 'Perfect Drug' vinyl release (Nightbreed Remix - considered to be 'the LAB4 of the Drum and Bass world' and who also enjoy worldwide success with a solid touring calendar of their live performances), and which also features LAB4's 'Invaderz' on the B-Side. We are very excoted about this release as the artists who remixed this tune for us had big expectations to live up to, and have managed to put both an unexpected and impressive injection of artistic input into this long awaited project.
** Featuring Proteus & Hellraiser, the Australian release of Pharmacy 3 - Down with the Sickness - the third double album in the series of the most rocking hard dance shows in Melbourne, Pharmacy. The fragile online record store is the only currently available store in the UK to stock this imported release.
** Pre-Release orders being taken for 12RESIST64 - LIMITED EDITION COLLECTOR'S PICTURE DISC 'Perfect Drug' - due for release on Monday 12th June and which will feature the original LAB4 mix (which has been extensively floor tested at live gigs throughout 2005 with an overwhelming response) as well as the much aniticipated remix from Starscream on the B-Side. We are honoured to have DJ Starscream - better known as the main DJ from one of our favourite metal bands - Slipknot to give us his own take on this monster LAB4 remix of the 1997 Nine Inch Nails tune. This picture disc, featuring artwork by Chris Melborn and Lez Lab4 on one side, and cover artwork on the other side is even more of a limited edition release than the last LAB4 picture disc (Reformation II re-release) - with only 1000 copies being pressed. PLEASE NOTE that once these collector's editon picture discs are gone, the next repress will be on normal vinyl, so we strongly advise that you get your copy as soon as possible to avoid missing out.
