These clips would probably be a fairer assessment of the size differences but look what happens in them!

Daiju Takase doesn't have anywhere near Bruce Lee's striking skill, speed or power; Royce Gracie is a BJJ expert with no effective striking.

From that video this Griffin character just looks crap anyway?

Is is a former Light Heavyweight Champ. He is no slouch. It simply represents the speed difference, also that he has already been battered for a few rounds. When you consider Bruce Lee is faster than Silva and Lenny Mclean is slower than Griffin then you'd know he won't be able to touch him.

When you consider skill, speed, accurately vs. raw strength and power, which is what this debate comes down to it is a perfect example.

Actually just looked up McLean's weight, 127kg. I always end up sparring with the 100-105 guys at the K-1 and BJJ anyway and I'm only 65kg. Clearly McLean is even bigger. But then I'm not anywhere as fit or skilled as Bruce Lee.

Big guys are slow as fuck. In K-1 they just gas out after 2 rounds. Illegal in modern combat sports but Bruce Lee would have a field day with their knee caps.

In BJJ the belt colour speaks more than the size. I can submit some bigger guys at my level but get's my arse whipped by the blue/purple belt midgets to be honest. Interestingly BJJ is the only sport with an absolute division, as in open weight class.

Obv a sumo had less mobility that McLean I was just pointing out the size difference, it's impossible to say who would win a hypothetical fight really if it's anything goes its conceivable that Bruce lee would get over whelmed if he slipped or something or takes a flush punch but I'd probably side with Bruce on the basis that McLean wasn't very good. Swap him for Joe Louis or Lennox Lewis I'd back the bigger man.

That's probably more like it. When skills and conditioning are pretty even then everything else start to matter more. But if you put a boxer against him I'd still say good luck with your knee caps.

The old UFC fights without weight categories were pretty dull affairs when you had little against large fight that's probably why they scrapped it and put in the divisions but two pros from different sports would be quite fascinating in a strangre way. A fast heavyweight like
Lewis with the reach advantage would surely take out a smaller man like Bruce lee, he can target the knees but he's got to get close enough to land those kicks then he's im range a power puncher with excellent foot work and it would only take one right hand!

Side kick has much longer reach than a jab mate.

Bruce lee at 5ft7 is going to be able to kick Lewis at 6ft 5 with an 84inch reach and not get hit? Not sure about that but that why it would have been fun to watch!

Lenny "Alright my san i think you could do with a lolly?"
Bruce - "Don't think.... Feel!!"

As Bruce snaps him in two!!

Thats what happens when your take your's eyes off an opponent!!

Bruce Lee is the Master!

Do you actually know what a side kick is? Where is one's head as one throws a side kick?

Lenny all the way!!! When you are dealing with a guy like Lenny. you are going to struggle to hurt him, no matter where you hit!! If ever he would of held boxing license!! I know some of you might disagree. He would of went all the way to the top!!!!! this guy was brute of the highest order and the Uk boxing commission knew that!

To kick with your head back at Lewis Lennox knees when you're 5ft 7 you're still going to be within relative range of his reach, if you're kicking up then you can put your head right back but you're talking about taking his out knees in which case he'll be kicking in a downward motion he'll be pretty close to him no?

Lennox's arms won't be longer than Bruce's leg plus torso dude...

Bruce Lee is a southpaw well known for his side kick.

Lennox may be tall but he's no Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (7'2), who probably can just about reach Bruce with a jab.

To demonstrate reach...

I'm not saying he would definitely beat Lennox, but a proficient kicker does have a much greater reach over a boxer, and sticking the lead leg out in the boxing stance without knowing how to defend kicks you knees are gonna get capped.

very interesting clip with the fat man, I see where you are coming from, I still thik this particular character was there just for the spectacle though, he really wasn't much of a fighter.

Ultimately that's where I am coming from, I'd heard a statistic that most real fights are over very quickly and also a large majority of them end up on the floor, so the person who's better at grappling etc will come out on top. That's just what I heard.

McLean is a boxer, not some elite BJJ submission artist. Bruce Lee studied wrestling. Submission moves are often demonstrated in his films.

Probably the most laughable thing i've read in a long time.

And I agree with all the things TheWrongun has said. I would also back a top Mix Martial Artist over a top Boxer every day of the week.
