You have probably read about a gang of hippy artists that are breaking into mansions in Belgravia, Chelsea and Knightsbridge that are privatly owned and squatting there until they get evicted.

Very sadly, history has shown that those people who refuse to claim ownership rights of land get fucked. Just look at the native american plight. :(

No shortage of them.

I have no problem with squatters, I went to numerous squat parties in the 90's and they always cleaned up after.

However, these were unused run down premises mainly for commercial use.

Squatting in a residence that clearly belongs to someone even if its a home that doesnt get used too much is not on. It's the governments fault there are so many homeless, they should be sorting it out not some rich family who happen to own a few properties.

That basically sums up my views Pabs. Other people shouldn't suffer.

Rubbish. Give people everything they need to survive without having to work for it and the vast majority of people stop working.

I grew up in a town with 100% employment. Everyone and his mum worked in Mr Kipplings, Fords, or the local tire factory and had a council house. I've never seen anywhere where the people had less ambition. It never occured to most of the people that it was possible to see more of the world than the poxy little town in which they were born.

The youths lack of vision and seeing their parents do 9-5 in a factory while kids around them had babies and got their own houses for free meant a spiralling culture of apathy, lethargy and boredom. Which inevitably results in violence and wide spread unhappiness.

If you want nice things you have to earn them.
