Dark Days Documentary
This is over 10 years old but some of you may not have seen it. It is an award winning documentary made by a Londoner called Marc Singer. He moved to NYC and became friends with some of the homeless community. He discovered this whole underground homeless community living in abandoned subway tunnels under the city, some of the people in the tunnels hadn't been above ground in several years, it is really worth watching.

DJ Shadow did the sound track and as a result of the film the majority of the residents from "Freedom Tunnel" where subsequently put it into proper apartments in NYC. If you haven't seen it then give it a whirl.

I don't remember that, it's not about drugs at all it is just an interesting look at bizarre sub culture that existed in New York. Some of the people that lived in the tunnels had not been above ground in years and some of the kids had grown up down there. It is just an interesting documentary particularly if you are interested in NYC and have been there.

It's really worth a look, the way they have a whole community down there is amazing. They have pets and families and different people with different skills doing things for each other, like one guy is the official barber of the group. It's amazing to hear their stories too, they're normalish intelligent people that just ended up homeless and how they survive and their little secret dwelling is really not like anything else I have come across.
