I do miss the TC Vs JOC thing (I only wished jack didn't take it so seriously at times) I know, we should'nt harp on about the good old days but...

And I don't agree 100% with Alex that people left because of the nastiness (very few people maybe)

EG: Dave and Amanda used to say they thought it was better without the nastiness and then as soon as it all went quiet and everyone was getting on.. they left! Doesn't really make sense :S

I think people just grew out of the scene and it was left for the new generation, but the new generation never joined up, simple as that.

As much as people hate to admit it, controversy creates interest, with controversy comes the nastiness and in some cases yes it does go to far - none the less, abuse creates page impressions which in turn creates money for the site.

Most of the abuse was light hearted banter and when it did over step the mark the admins were always pretty sharp to toe the line.

I hadnt realised dave and amanda had left - thats a shame they were really nice guys and were always really helpfull on here :-(

As far as I'm concerned all of this is supposition based on basically nothing. No one on this site or out side of the relationship or the courts has any right to accuse him of anything as no one KNOWS anything. Its just gossip.

On a side note, downloaded the MOTW for the first time in about 2 years - like it :D good work DSI

This is it, it's a clubbing website effectively and if you don't really go to clubs much any more it loses it's appeal. Stew was saying last week that peoples weekends plans seemed boring, when you get to 30 it's not cool to be posting shit up all the time about how fucked up you got last weekend, I've been doing that for years and none of you give a shit and if anything probably think I am quite sad, I am not at the stage when I agree with you.

I don't even take ecstasy any more and the last couple of events I went to I not only didn't enjoy, I genuinely had a shit time and couldn't wait to get home! There should be a new breed of young people joining but sites like Twitter and FB have them locked down, plus everyone has a camera on their phone now, people don't need spotters because they're all spotters!

JoK was a nice guy! He was just a bit unusual and a bit difficult to work with at times.

I thought he admitted it was his girl friend and they were sleeping together?

Thats the biggest point of this site - ANYONE can learn photography from the pro's on this site

Nearly everyone I know who left the site a few years ago, when questioned says that it was because they didn't like the aggressive nonsense that was impossible to escape from.

There were a lot of people that enjoyed the abuse humour and came back for it, but a lot more that didn't.

Anyway, its done now. No point re-opening that particular autopsy.

The kicker was the forced facebook link up and you know it - MOST people left then.

That was the final nail in the coffin for sure.

Even I joined Facebook, and I hated it!

That was one of the great things about 'the old days' though. EVERYONE was uploading photos and you had the competition of who could spot the most people!

We told them till we were blue in the face that this was a bad idea! :-/

i know dude, trying to get across to people that anonymity was important in a way that facebook would never let you have it was hard.

DSI supplied anonymity in a way that facebook never could or will.

Even today there's still the take the piss angle, I remember when I got a bit more involved in posts to this group there were people ripping the piss, even suggesting I wasn't a real person and the piss ripping has continued right up until this morning in the Maddie thread, . . . Any attention is good attention ;)

Are there actually any other groups here on DSI with regular posts / threads apart from the DSI Mixes one and they're not really conversations, they're just posts of people's mixes? I haven't come across any other groups or when I even re-check old groups the threads contained in it are simply old and dead.
