Pointless internet shite
What is the fucking point in shit like this?

It seems that this stuff is getting more prolific.. nothing to do with any sort of organisation, its just a sad attempt at getting people to click 'like' on something you posted.

Like people that are trying to 'raise awareness' of Cancer. Seriously?! Who hasn't heard of Cancer?

I think you should just sit in your room on your own listening to music. That way nothing can annoy you.

Sounds to me like Alex is a paedophile sympathiser and a woman and child beater.

A wife-beating sadomasochistic paedophile?

Yeah like those stupid things women send round on Facebook like "Post what colour bra, you're wearing with measurement of your wrist on your status" Or something like that Blah Blah blah, and they say it's to raise awareness for breast cancer.... In what way does that do anything good for women with breast cancer?! :-S Stupid bitches....

Exactly. Its the equivalent of putting on a charity function and spending all the money on cocktails and canapes. People just like showing off that they 'care', rather than actually caring.

Its a weird mix of sycophancy and self congratulation.

Yep! It's like they feel better about themselves because they are doing something to help, when in reality they're just being annoying twats

I agree with alex, all they are is an excuse for someone to build up views of a webpage so they can eventually approach online businesses and trade off the number of pople they attract to their pages and posts. Page impressions are a commodity in the digital world Im afraid.

Speaking of this sort of behavior, facebook are planning on starting to put adverts actually in your news feed. Adverts for stuff you've not clicked 'like' on or anything like that.

Basically facebook's shares have dropped dramatically since they floated the company so they need to find a way to cash in on their users.

Again I'm reminded of an FT conference I went to earlier this year where a room full of old grey suits who probably never use the web themselves questioned creators of amazing websites / online services and asked them how they could 'monitise' them. The answer was nearly always: you can't, it would ruin the service and everyone would stop using it.

These same people are behind the obsessive plugging of tablet technology. They were lamenting the fact that most people consume a large amount of their internet content through mobile phones rather than tvs because there isn't enough room for effective advertising. Nothing to do with the technology being useful, everything to do with selling you more shit.

Yeah I suppose so but life's no fun if you can't be hypocritical. I also think there's a difference in that growing a tash when loads of other people are is a bit of fun whether its for a charity or not. I wont be going around pretending its for cause.. unlike these images which explicitly state that they're about something when they are in fact meaningless.
