Belvedere House

Info

Belvedere House was built in 1740 by German-born Architect Richard Castle, as a hunting and fishing lodge for Lord Belfield - Robert Rochfort - who later became the First Earl of Belvedere. Located on high ground at the heart of the magnificent 160 acre estate, the house enjoys spectacular views of Lough Ennell and its islands and the largest collection of follies in Ireland including a secret garden and a gothic arch! The festival site is situated on Georgian landscaped gardens which give a ‘rolling’ effect and make the site a series of natural amphitheatres. It is also the site of the Walt Disney Licensed “ Narnia World” for the movie of the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe , which should give you some idea of how special the site is.
