Music : Techno

Its been a while since Waterford has had a regular techno night but at the Loft, Electric Avenue on Jan 25th Re:Publik Music is gonna change all that!

RE:TECH is a brand new night dedicted to you lovers of quality techno & minimal. Each night we will be bringing you the best of what our city has to offer plus guests from time to time. The launch night will see 3 of the freshest techno turntablists around, bringing the goods on the night will be one of Re:Tech's new residents Alan Harris.

Alan is no stranger to the club scene over the past 4 years he has made himself a name on the irish techno circut. After coming second in the Musiklab dj competition, he has gained a lot of respect with djs and clubbers alike, Alan went on to play in clubs in Carlow and Dublin and has held residencies for Musiklab & Electric Circus and supported the likes of Umek, Dave the Drummer & Mauro Picotto to name a few.

Joining Alan on the bill, we are thrilled to have GobSmacked Records head honcho Diarmaid O'Meara play his first gig in The Loft. For many years Diramaid has been djing in clubs all over the country and also ran the very successfull techno night GobSmacked which brought the likes of DJ Rush, CJ Bolland, Space Djs, Marco Remus to the Waterford clubbers. In the past 12 months he has branched out the GobSmacked brand and started his own record label Gobsmacked Records http://gobsmackedrecords.com which is currently on its 13th release!!

And to finish the line up for Re:Tech's launch we have a man that has been on the Waterford house scene for many years, Joe Gould. Joe's love for dance music has had him listening and playing all kinds of dance music from deep house to Chicago house to more recently tech house and minimal techno. This is a night not to be missed so arrive early and be apart of the something new and fresh thats going to wake up the sleepy techno scene our city has had for the last while. Doors 11pm & admission 8 euro. Entry to "The Loft" through Electric Avenue, then to the left of the main bar.
