After a one month hiatus Throwdown returns...
But the difference is this time the Yokohama monthly club event at The Green Sheep has been renamed from "Throwdown" to "The Pole". The name change came as a small disagreement among the DJs and management who wanted to find a more suitable name that everyone can agree on for the event.

Why is it called "The Pole", what the hell is that anyway? Sounds like a name for a strip club event right? The DJ event at The Green Sheep is organized and played by foreigners in Japan. There is a special loitering spot among gaijins (foreigners) in Yokohama city near the More's shopping building. By this building there use to be a crosswalk pole where the gaijins stood at to socialize and drink alcoholic beverages almost every night. Many friendships were established at that spot. Many of those same people are attendees of this event, therefore we thought it be suitable to name the event after the infamous location. There you Have it.

We took a month off in December in which there was no event, due to two DJs traveling overseas for Christmas and New Year's, but we return on the last day of January. The events are usually always held on a Thursday towards the end of the month. Now we are in the talks of co-ordinatnig it to take place on the third Thursday of every month, it's not final but in the works.

This event like last had a good turnout. All 3 of the resident DJs: Antomattei of Tokyo, Simon "TC" Knight, and Clinton Lopez returned, plus we had some guest DJs. A friend name Dede whose first time it was to DJ, and two other Japanese gentleman who acted as a DJ team that played simultaneous. Another night with many eclectic styles of music being played.

I'd like to give a shoutout to all the faithful attendents who come to the shows; Sophia, Kelsey, Celine, Doctor, Lagos, and my two friends who showed up for the first time Yumi and Yuki. Thanks for making it what it is. The standard for each event is getting higher and higher, and the caliber better. If you live in Yokohama city, Kanagawa prefecture, or nearby in Tokyo prefecture, you don't know what you are missing. Come check us out at the next event in February. Admission is free currently and drinks are discounted down to 500 yen.
