Hi my name is Alison a.k.a Dj Queen K. My highland ears had no idea of the auditory delights that london had to offer previous to moving here in 2000, what was this wonderland called a club and what was this wonderful journey called a 'dj set' - I swear I was that nieve and I also think I fell in love with a different dj everynight. The particular brand that sets my inner ear vibrating is funky, jackin chicago house and minimal tech, two completely different ends of the spectrum but there you go! I used to be a genre snob but soon realised that I was missing out with my discriminatory ways. I recently came out of my bedroom and braved Rolands DJ Skool which offered free dj lessons (could this be true?) It would have been rude not to check it out, and thank the illustrious DJ in the sky it did my confidence and DJ skills no end of good and I've managed to land myself sets in Club 414 the FRIDGE and SW4 after parties. Obviously my ambition is world domination but that will definately do for starters :-) I would say my favourite venue would have to be Fabric, obviously the sound system is amazing but for me the main attraction is them having the toilet thing completely sorted, the one thing that I really hate in a club is queuing for the loo when your favourite tune comes on. Saying that I hardly ever go (although Saturdays are amazing...note to self... must go soon)as my favourite parties of the moment are CiRcOloCo, Secret Sundaze, Moochin, Zombies Ate my brain. My favourite DJ's being Tania Valcano, Locodice, Clive Henry, Shane Watcha, Coco Ariaz, David Jiminez, Marco Reismann,Lee Jarvis, Giles Smith, James Priestly, Joey Youngman, Derek Carter in fact too many to mention so i'll stop here. Anyway feel free to drop me a line and feel free to offer me some gigs. toodle loo for the noo QK Counter
