A bit about Blaksmiff

I'm a 30 year old DJ \ Producer called Mark Evans aka Scratch aka Blaksmiff, from Cambridge, I don’t really have a “favourite” type of music, I like pretty much anything that makes my foot tap, I am partial to a good bit of Hip-Hop or DnB or Breaks or House or Jazz or……………………………….. (You get the idea)


I started DJ’ing hardcore in about 92 then as things moved on I started playing early jungle and drum and bass, playing everything from the darkest of dark hard-step to the dreamiest Bukem-esque intelligent stuff, only missing out the cheesiest thoughtless jump-up in the middle! Over the past couple of years I have also started playing breakbeat which for me is a happy medium between Drum and bass and house, allowing me to play it Dark and Nasty or bouncing and funky, depending on my mood or the occasion. I have residencys at The fountain and Quinns in Cambridge, and a BiWeekly slot on Danceradio.gr

Chuck in an uncontrollable urge to go skiing every 5 minutes (a proper sport for all you Snowboarders) a thirst for most things alcoholic an aversion to sleep, and that’s about me.
