Rite then, bout time I gave a bit of info bout meself then!!
Well, I started djin about 8 years ago with my mate Gav, I bought my first set of decks about a year after I started which were technics.
Got my first djin gig in a djin comp in xs in wrexham which I lost miserably, nerves got the better of me on the nite!
Then I did a nite in a wine bar in Chester called Jones's.
After this came Sugar Reef in Wrexham, my first regular djing slot where I met my very good mates Gary Joy & JFK, from this I've had the wildest nites in my life, Gary Joy is a rite party animal, and deffo always up for a laugh!
Then one day in Sugar Reef I bumped into Jamie Lee, and he said come down to k1 after you finish work and bring some tunes with ya, so I did, and that was the beginning for me, me n jamie rocked the top floor of k1 for a good few months, hammering out the biggest and best anthems around at the time, I don't think I've met anyone I can go back 2 back with that bounce off eachother as well as me n jamie do, and I hope Jamie can say the same, we know how to have a laugh, and thats the most important thing when djin, don't take it too seriously!
Then I parted from Jamie & K1 and went to scotts, where I learnt my hardest lesson yet, how to do warmup, for me this is the most important part of the nite, it can set u up for an awesome time, or a shit one, if u can get the dancefloor rammed without playin anthems, then you've done your job!! Still not the best at it, JFK is the man for that, but I'm gettin there!!
After Scotts things died for me a bit, and I went to The Cricketers in Wigan, has to be the worst club I have ever dj'd in, but this is where I met Gary Selex (Meltdown & Zone), Carlo (Ace Recordz), Anton-E (Ard Bounce Records), John G (Sanctuary) & Nelson Santos (Bass 2 Bounce), all of which are awesome dj's. I also got contacts for the likes of Pete Monsoon (Aldrich & Glennon, Monsoon & Dreamwurx) who are massive producers in the scouse house scene.
Then I came back to k1 and joined with Jamie again, where we were the first & ONLY people to bring DJ Welly to wrexham. Then Mikey B followed. This is where Bouncin Beats was born, and from this we've jus gone from strength to strength.
Buttermarket VIP room, hit capacity and we got moved into the cellars, where I had the opportunity to dj alongside legends like, Hixxy, Breeze & Styles, Dougal. Then as we hit capacity in the cellars we got moved to the main arena of the Buttermarket (Top Floor) Where we kicked into action with Sy, Scot Brown & Storm, unfortunately I missed this event ( ) but was back for the recent Hixxy & Dougal nite in September!
Now my work life is hectic, my weekends are none existant but it's great, looking forward to this weds (22nd Feb 2006) for K1's Under 16's event where we will see Welly come back to Wrexham for an exclusive set on the 1's & 2's. Couple of events that I'm lookin forward to are as follows, Friday 24th Feb, Tasty Beats at the Buttermarket, Friday 3rd March, Bouncin Beats with Vibes & Livelee, some brilliant nites coming up, and I can't Fookin Wait!!!!
End of essay, thanks for reading!!!
