hi im craig went to my first rave in aug91(universe the techno tent) and was hooked started going to X-static every week in bristol every single night was amazing plus it had bristols first 4am license though that was still to early dont think i ever left there not still totally rushing me tits off lol remember one night there had been a bomb scare in the centre so it was all taped off ended up chatting shit to a police women for atleast 15mins lol then started going to all the big events(fantazia, obsession, universe, perception, dreamscape etc) over the next few years during this time the music was evolving so quickly by mid 93 the sound was really dark moody drum and base which allthough it was banging music it didnt induce the happy vibe and friendly atmosphere that had drawn me to raving in the first place so started listening to alot of techno DJ's like easygroove, carl cox, colin dale and clarkee then i spose late 93-94 dougal,vibes,sy and slipmatt started playing what would become happy hardcore with the return of uplifting vocals and piano riffs allthough at this point it still had a break beat to it rather than the 4-4 beats we hear in hardcore now. after tribal gathering 97 decided to stop going out as the downsides were outwieghting the good times still listened to the music though happy hardcore had started to become a bit stale way to cheesy so mainly was more into me drum and base,hardstep Dj,s like Dr s Gachet, Rap, Hype, Ronnie Size and Krust. though by around 2001 sort of lost touch with it all then about a year and a half ago discovered hardcore again didnt even think there were still any hardcore raves going on lol think i have had maybe a total of 5 weekends since were i havent gone to a hardcore night fucking loving it all over again, still listen to other styles like drum and base, harddance and trance but none come close to the feeling hardcore gives me, Have also got back in to mixing again and bought meself a set of 1210s cant get enough loves it.
