Pssst, over here! I like your face, you look like someone I can trust; so let me give you a tip. It’s a tip that’ll have you grinning from ear to ear, and bouncing your sweet little ass round the club all night long. It’s a tip that the underground world of hard dance and trance have known about for quite some time. He’s taking the dance world by storm, like some crazed dictator with a penchant for driving and infectious beats, and he ain’t stopping until every dancefloor knows his name. This tip is Charlie G, and he’s a true leader of the pack. Chances are you’ve already heard of him; a DJ, producer, label manager, promoter, music writer and artist PR, over the last seven years his accomplishments are numerous. Yet he’s only just begun.

Charlie’s career ignited with a bang. Within months of adopting the noble art of mixing he became resident at the west country’s leading hard dance brand, Tranzaction, warming up for some of the world’s leading artists such as Eddie Halliwell, Judge Jules, Lisa Lashes and Yoji Biomehanika. Bypassing the whole bedroom DJ thing, Charlie was cutting his teeth in the big league and swiftly acquired the skills of a true performer with an innate ability to work a crowd. The party just got wilder and wilder…

Over the years this party has led him to some of the biggest clubs in the country. It’s led to week-long twisted shindigs in Ibiza with plays at prestigious, world renowned venues such as Es Paradis and Eden and releases on huge imprints such as Mondo, Nukleuz, Warner Music and Monster Hard. It’s led to him bagging the honourable role of trance reviewer for the UK’s leading dance magazine iDJ. It’s led to appearances Pete Tong’s Radio 1’s Essential Selection and a support slot of the Radio 1 live stage, it’s led to his records being aired on all major radio stations, and remix demands from some of the most of the most respected names in the game.

Impressive as it sounds, to witness Charlie’s talents is to see him in action behind the decks. A beat-busting, bassline-boasting badass, Charlie’s infectious turntable energy is boundless and feeds any crowd he plays, from big room trance sets in Ibiza to cheeky electro-house sets in cool subterranean hang-outs via swanky sexy nu-rave romps at glamorous after-parties. Harbouring a bottomless record box, and a keen eye for what the dancefloors want, Charlie’s versatility marks him as a true 21st century DJ who understands today’s broad-minded, cosmopolitan club clientele who are hungry for all styles of music from the mightiest euphoric drop to the filthiest guitar riff.

Dubbed the “smiliest, happiest DJ on the scene,” by Lisa Pin Up, Charlie’s hectic commitments to the dance music cause are driven by one thing; his love for the party.
