WHO IS COLIN FRENSH??

I was born in lovely Edinburgh and moved to Birmingham in 1999 where I have stayed ever since. Most people know me as Col The Medik. I am a well established Hard dance DJ and have been a prominent figure on the UK and midlands Hard Dance scene for almost 10 years now. The midlands is where I focussed all my attention in the early years so I could get myself noticed as to make a name for myself and gain my fan base. I am proud to say I am the original founder and promoter of the legendary and unforgettable Hard Dance club SHAFT in Birmingham. I feel I have contributed much to hard dance over the years with my determination and drive to bring together a unique mix of old and new music and clubbers alike.
I have always put 100% into everything I have done and this has held me in good stead over the 10 years I have been performing.

WHY THE NAME CHANGE??

When I started out as a DJ I had just left 13 years of service in the army medical corps. I was working as a medic on Oil Rigs as well putting all of his spare time into my music and self promotion. Hence Col The Medik. I gave up being a medic over 5 years ago and for the last year I have taken time out from playing and promoting to concentrate more on lifes priorities.


Over the 9 years since I broke onto the scene, I am proud to say he achieved every single goal I set myself regarding my music, promoting and DJing. I am thankful to everyone who has stood by and supported me over the years especially all the clubbers. With out you guys us DJ's are nothing.



SO! WHERE DID I BEGIN AND WHAT MUSIC DO I PLAY??

I have always had a passion for trance anthems and classics and was playing hard house and bounce in the early years at Birmingham nights Sundissential, Shaft and featured regularly at Subway city events including 3 pride festivals. My first residency was at SCRUNCH in Birmingham. I now am concentrating all of my time on playing Hard Dance, Hard Trance, Anthems and Classics.
