NTRODUCTION....
D-Grove (Darren) has entirely devoted the last 6 years of his life to his music. After learning how to mix records together using ‘house & garage' tunes for a local pub, he quickly came to realise that he could incorporate his new skills with his true love, that was for hard trance.
It was now, Darren was spending every last penny on equipment and tunes, and devoting hours every night to devising sets and learning the music. Darren’s' first club performance was at the ‘Meltdown’ night, held at the dance station in Swansea, where he instantly gained a residency. Following this he gained residency at 'Fundamental' held at the palace, which was also in his home city of Swansea.
Whilst at The Palace nightclub, Swansea, he was given the opportunity to promote his own night, which he called Xtreme. When the Palace closed in late 2002, Darren moved the night to the underground Venue, Subterranea. Then, in 2005, he joined forces with local DJ’s, Defiant & Distortion! Xtreme was re-launched, with bigger line-ups, a better venue (Kats, Neath) and was also re-named Xtreme Psykosis!
From that very day, the event went from strength to strength, gaining a crowd of regular 'Xtreme Clubbers' and bringing some of the UK’s top DJ’s from the world of hard dance including, M-Zone, Vortex, Jon the Baptist & Chuck-E, ,Vandall, Ben eye & log one, Cally & Juice, and so on…. Xtreme also were proud to give some of the best, and most promising local talent Wales has to offer there chance to shine amongst the established names.
The club has moved venues, & toured many times, going from Kats, to the Juice Club, to Club Kaos, to The Appollo in Porthcawl, and also on to The Cabin which is also situated in PorthCawl. (All of you old school heads will remember that this is the club where 'x' raves were held 'back in the day!') This said, the moves in venue have never deterred the following that Xtreme has gained over the years.
THE DJ....
Darren’s DJ skills, and nice guy reputation has gained him many friends, and he has worked @ most of the main Hard Trance nights in the area. Namely, Breathe & Bionic, Rebirth, Escape, ect............ each time Darren plays, his talent seems to increase, managing to give a high energy, original performance each and every time. Darren aim, is to give an electric atmosphere to the whole club during his sets, & share his passion for the’ harder sounds’ with every 1 around him. His ‘banging’ tunes, combined with his hyper-energy antics behind the decks get the crowd going every time without fail! D-Groves sets are guaranteed to fill the dance floor, get you stomping your feet and generally raise the atmosphere!

DJ D-Grove started producing in June 2006 & in January of 2007 he remixed the tune ‘Isn’t all a little strange’ an old’ S.H.O.K.K.’ classic! Since then he has been hard at work and set up a mini studio in his Swansea home. DJ support comes from - Alex Kidd, M-zone, Slideout, Rush GBH and a whole host of up and coming DJ’s all over the in UK!
Staying up to date, as the year 2007 draws to a close, it is not only the production side of Darren’s musical career that is creating new paths. He has recently joined forces with DJ Danny Slade (Escape) and Jason P, and together as residents and promoters they run and event called ‘Rebirth’ which is situated in Pontredawe, just out side Swansea in Wales.
