DEF TEK has been DJing since 2002 and is based in the Leeds/Bradford area of the UK. He has just started experimenting with the production side of things and his primary influences are Alex Calver, Yoji Biomehanika, Lab 4 and Sven Wittekind. He grew up listening to the likes of Tony De Vit, BK, and labels such as Nukleuz and Tidy as well as some harder stuff such as Torture Gardens and a little Techno. Having hit the Decks at 17 with a mixed knowledge of the Hard Trance and UK Hard House scene he quickly developed some skills and started playing at private parties and birthday bash's. As he progressed he yearned for harder, darker, more energetic beats and now supports anything and everything to do with Hard Techno & Schranz style mayhem. Known by close friends and associates as "The Master of Disaster" he is undoubtedly a hot prospect, and certainly knows how to bring the bass to any dancefloor. He loves to be apart of the crowd and has graced many dancefloors over the years and after visiting the Leeds Love Parade at the age of 13, his passion soared and he's never looked back. He has organised and promoted his own event in Wakefield, having DJs such as Alex Kidd, BK, Sam Townend, Shan and many more. Here he was a monthly resident himself, and with a long list of private parties, back 2 back gigs and a Headline slot at "The Mill" he is definatly moving in the right direction.
