My names Andy and I'm a clubber at heart. The end!
Not really;)
Aside from DJ'ing my interests include football, boobies, engineering, cars, technical illustration etc - quite an eclectic chap I think you'll agree.
I've been DJ'ing for nigh on 8 years now. I was heavily into dance music at college when I was 16 or 17, not long after the 1999 hey day of Trance. In July 2002 for my 18th birthday I realised DJ'ing was something that I really wanted to learn the art of so bought my first set of decks - Numark belt drives which were awful LOL. After that I invested heavily into a set of 1210 Mk3D's and 100's of vinyl over the coming years. I discovered CDJ's in the summer of 2008 and although I love my vinyl I have never looked back since that fateful day.
My first love is Trance, always has been, always will be. Visits to the Mecca that is The Republic in Sheffield (R.I.P.) for Gatecrasher and more recent nights out @ Digital Society in Leeds have pretty much cemented this theory. Theres this sense of synaesthesia when I play Trance music which never seems to appear when I play other styles. Thats not to say Trance is all I play; no, indeed I like the progressive side of both Trance and House and also flirted with hard dance when first starting out. My style is very similar to that of Armin Van Buuren. My sets have a progressive beginning, maybe a vocal track or two and develop/increase in BPM as the set progresses. Uplifting, melodic and euphoric Trance are the main players in any set I mix, with the odd bit of Tech thrown in for good measure.
Having served my trade as a DJ apprentice over the last 8 years and having had a couple of local Bar residencies in my home town of Scunthorpe, I'm now looking at expanding on that and making new contacts. Watch this space is all I could suggest!
