DJ Frequen-Cee, originally from Birmingham, now living in the southeast. He got into the underground music scene with the Amnesia House movement in the early 90’s and over the years his tastes have gone in all directions.

Frequen-cee’s older brother, Jonny-Cee, was the main catalyst in getting him into the underground scene. Jonny-Cee would often come home, completely “munted” from the illegal rave he had been to that weekend, telling him all his raving stories. So, from the tender age of 10years old Frequen-Cee was listening to the likes of Prodigy, Massive Attack, Top Buzz and early Grooverider mix tapes – not exactly normal for someone of his age! It meant that he watched drum & bass emerge from the early-jungle he was listening to in 1993 to what we know it to be now.

When he started raving in 1998 at the age of 16, he was heavily into Hardcore, known now as OldSkool, nights such as Flashback, Slammin Vinyl and Helter Skelter.
Drum & Bass, however, soon became his love and he began mixing and developed his own unique double-drop, EQ-rinsing style! It wasn’t long before he was promoting nights in Birmingham, establishing his name within the area. In 2004 he linked up with DJ Resolute, whilst promoting a club night, they soon became great friends and b2b partners.

In late 2005 the concept of “H2O Presents” a promotional/production platform, was formed with Frequen-Cee’s then girlfriend now wife, Charlie-Cee. DJ Resolute became the first H2O representative to be recruited and there are plans to release a “b2b 4-deck rinse-out” set for download via H2O Presents.

It was in 2006 when Frequen-Cee made his DJ’ing debut playing a drum & bass set at ASBO, a monthly Breakz night in Birmingham. Securing him a residency at all their drum & bass specials. Since then he has gone on to play at Different Drum & System Down, both nights in Brixton, London. Recently he played as a special guest in Lisbon, Portugal promoting the H2O sound. In 2006 he started a Music Production degree course with Brighton Uni, which ihe has recently completed this year. Finally he can use his love and knowledge of the music and industry in a course that covers everything from engineering & production to beat analysis and business management.

Frequen-Cee’s current production is centered on Drum & Bass, Dub-Step and Breakz mixed with certain elements of Hip Hop! His DJ style remains strictly D&B, loud fast breaks and occasional chilled beats. In 2008 he gained a weekly slot on internet radio station, Quantum Soundz (www.quantumrecordings.co.uk), every Sunday 10pm-12am. Each week covering different elements of drum & bass such as: liquid, jungle and jump-up, never sticking to one style and featuring guest mc’s and dj’s (b2b sets).

Now 26yrs old, happily married and a proud daddy to iccle 'FINN', he spends most of his time knocking around studios and music hotspots. He is massively into the scene and always keeps an ear-locked to what’s going on.
