It all began in 1998, a 16 year old growing up in Norwich, religiously listening to Westwoods weekend shows on Radio 1. After saving up money from my Saturday job, I bought my first set of decks, swapped CDs for vinyl and built up a Hip-Hop collection consisting of artists such as De La Soul, B.I.G. Snoop & Dre, and KRS-1. However, after the launch of Norwichs first ever pirate station Flight 100FM, I was fascinated by the homegrown sounds of Jungle and Garage and started hooking up with promoters on the local scene. This resulted in a couple of weekly UKG residencies at underground clubs such as Fat Paulys and Mojos.
After moving to London in 2000, I started promoting and playing at various parties on the university circuit, including Kings, UCL, Imperial and Westminster, playing UKG, as well as Jungle, Dancehall, R&B and Funky House.
Highlights have included playing at the Ministry of Sound, raising money for charity with my Drum n Bass promotion, Elevate at Kings College, playing alongside MC Det, Eksman and Shabba D, a 2 year residency at The Marketplace, and playing at the well established Traffic at the Rhythm Factory with the Sub-Red collective on New Years Eve. Am currently a resident for the breaks night The Vinyl Touch at the Rhythm Factory and recently hosted their room at Moondance at SE1 this year.
