Hey Peeps!!! I'm Rob,aka Dj R-Type.

I am an absolute dance music nut!! & have been since the age of 11 way back in 1990. I caught the dance music bug through the tapes i was pinching off my cousin & his m8's, mixes from such dj's as Sasha,Carl Cox,Top Buzz,Grooverider,Sy,Ratty,Pilgrim,Trevor Rockliffe,Dave Angel,Billy nasty to name but a few. And the collection of flyers from Fantazia,Dreamscape,Helter Skelter,The Eclipse etc that used to adorn every spare inch of my bedroom,my school books & any other surface i could stick em on LOL
I went to my first rave in 93 @ Club Kinetic in Stoke & loved every min of it!!! (Carl Cox ROCKED!)
& ever since then my passion has grown & grown. A move to London in the late 90's coupled with my discovering of Trance & Hardtrance a year or so previous led me to discovering the Trance & Hard House scene. Regularly attending nights such as Frantic,Twisted,Strawberry Sundae,The Gallery,Sunnyside Up & Heaven.
A move back up North in late 99 led me to nights like Sundissential,Gatecrasher,Insomniacz & Goodgreef. Attending these events & seeing the dj's which i worshipped inspired me to learn how to
mix. I first started playing about on the 1's & 2's in 2K & by mid 01 id started playing a few gigs in Manchester @ the likes of Club North, Goodgreef afterparties & Sin:ergy.
I took a sabbatical from the scene for a few years, due to work & family life being time consuming. Although i did still follow the music & spend too much on tunes & too much time deafening my other half during this time. (Love You Babe!!) Then after attending tuiTion in Manchester last summer i decided that the time was right to dust down the decks & start spinning again!! (Cheers Ezzy!!! I owe u one!!!!!).
Although i'd call myself a Hardhouse dj foremost i am quite partial & comfortable playing other
styles & have probably played as many Trance & House sets as i have Hardhouse.
