As a celebration of being on DSI for 2,5 years now I finally decided to actually write something on my profile.
I am originally Ukrainian, but I have lived in the Netherlands (Amsterdam) for 7 years now.
I seriously got into dance music back in 2000, when I fell absolutely in love with trance. Back then, the likes of
Rank 1,
Cygnus X,
Mauro Picotto and
Paul van Dyk were in my favourites' list. My first ever rave was
Trance Energy in 2003, which was a night to remember. I also went out to club/house nights once in a while.
After a break of about year and a half, I've teamed up with a mad Australian, that is my best mate Sarah, and started going to raves again. She opened harder styles of music to me, of the existence of which I was completely ignorant: hardtrance and hardhouse. At the time these two styles were still quite big in Holland, with regular
HQ nights being held monthly in Melkweg club and
HQ stage being immensely popular at
Dance Valley with top djs in the line-up; there were
I love Hardhouse parties and regular Dutch invasions to London for nights like
HHA. Meeting people from the 'hq crew' got me on a rollercoaster of constant partying: going out 2 nights in a row was more than common, and each one of those was an absolute blinder.
HQ crew organized a trip to
Frantic Timeless, held on October 1st, 2005, on which I joined them. Finally, my first ever experience of UK clubbing, of which Ive heard so many stories! There are no words to describe how I felt that night. The atmosphere, the people, the music, discovering cyber... it was perfect!
It got me completely hooked on going clubbing in UK, and I still try to come and visit at least once in 1-2 months. You will find me at mainly London nights, such as
Nu Religion,
Frantic,
Heat, but I also go to
Tidy Weekenders, and hope to visit some clubs in Brum in near future.
These days my music taste is very diverse, I still love harddance to bits, don't mind a bit of (early)hardstyle and happy hardcore, acid and oldskool hardcore. I am also slowly returning to my vocal trance roots, because this genre will never bore me, as it keeps constantly evolving and refining itself.
My favourite djs at the moment are:
Rob Tissera, Andy Farley, Cally Gage, JP & Jukesy, Lisa Pin-up, Technikal, Glazby, Ben Stevens, Armin van Buuren, Sean Tyas, Paul van Dyk, Cosmic Gate, Yoji Biomehanica.

Music is my drug!

Sensation Black 2005 with 2 friends (I'm on the left)

Dance Valley Winter 2004 with my best friend Sarah. She got me into harddance clubbing!

I wouldn't be enjoying my visits to England half as much, if it wasn't for the Dutchies.
I love each and every one of them for being such brilliant spweshal individuals, great friends and absolute scumbags!
