As a kid I used to love going through all the old LP’s in my Dad’s stereo ,I used to show my friends all the different music but they never seemed as interested as me.
My brother Gavin kicked off my fascination with electronic music I guess as he used to go to all the illegal raves back in the early ninety’s (God I wish I as that little bit older sometime’s ,just to see it all from the beginning ya know!!) ,then he would beg borrow or steal all the mix tapes and play them full blast on his HUGE speakers in his bedroom ,so I couldn’t get away from it! (not that I wanted to mind!)
When I got older and started working I got together enough money to buy some all in one disco decks with a load of old skool tunes and started to learn what was what ,I didn’t keep them long as I realised quickly that they wasn’t really up to the job ,but hey I ended up with a ace selection of vinyl for a tenner bargain!!
When I got a decent job I spent my first pay check on some belt drive turntables and stepped up my game ,as I went clubbing more and more my love of Trance and Hard House grew and grew so these became my weapon’s of choice for three years.
Another job heralded a new set of decks direct drive this time but beware of cheap imitations kids (and Gemini decks) cause believe me you will get stung!!
Anyway a few years later and wiser I slowed down the tempo bought some Technics (a truly worthy investment)a Pioneer CDJ 800(an even more worthy investment)and a Pioneer DJM 800(a WE ARE NOT WORTHY investment!!) and love it dirty bassy and kinda funky,so let’s ‘ave ya!!!
