History
I am EvilKeg, a.k.a. Keith Wilson, a house, breaks and electro DJ as well as a part time producer who has been obsessively creating beats in some form since Santa sent him his Atari 1040 STFM back in 1991. This was back in the day when studios didn’t fit in a computer and people wore boiler suits and face-masks to dance.
Initially gaining live performance exposure in several rock bands across London and the South East, electronica was something that I always wanted to get involved with.
In 2006 I finally decided it was time to try his hand at beat matching and since then I've been slowly gaining interest and exposure in both the UK and abroad.
DJ Residencies
Currently I compile and broadcasts a live show on the twice Breakspoll nominated radio station Brap.fm. The show goes out every other Wednesday and is an eclectic mix of indie, breaks, electro, bootlegs and house from the last three decades. I routinely review DJ hardware and related equipment via YouTube as well as on discussion forums on the internet.
I can also be found performing live across the UK at bars, clubs and parties playing what the crowd want to hear… no-one likes playing to an empty dance floor!
Nights don’t promote themselves either, and I'm more than happy to muck in with the dirty side of event promotion. From mentioning on the show to handing out flyers to posting on message boards and websites, I know it’s not just about playing a two hour set in a dark room, trying depserately to look cool!
I have a residency at a really friendly bar called ME1 Restaurant and Bar, Maidstone where I play most Saturdays a mixture of house, breaks, rock and requests... hey if I have it with me, I'll put it on :)
Live Experience
I've played at bars and cafés in the UK as well as events in Barbados and South Africa. I frequently compile music compilation CDs, choosing tracks that will compliment each product's current advertising campaign for:
