A bit about gwa-heed

Musical Genre's - Electro/dirty/tough house, trance, hard trance, hard house, hardstyle

Aspirations - currently looking for a residency & starting production in 2007

Six years in the making this DJ is fast becoming a future representative in everything
that is clubbing! The career of this never tiresome dj started in 2000 at Debauchery,
Southamptons premiere hard house club. The club was soon voted club of the month by
both Mixmag & Ministry magazines. He was inspired by the heavy clubbing scene of the
north & brought the sound of Sundissential and Tidy to the south coast, making
an instant impact on a southern scene yet to appreciate these names.

After 12 months of changing music cultures & an ongoing exhaustive search to find more
original & varied sounds, GWA became resident for RPM. This club hosted international
talent such as Nick Sentience, BK & Lisa Pin-Up. The height of this experience culminated
with GWA playing the final set on each of these nights, giving the local crowds an exclusive
insight into the talent for the future.

As with any musician, music engulfed him from every angle and as such his sound has become
more refined and yet more diverse also.

Residencies: over the 2002-2003 period..

Matrix club, Reading (hard trance),
Seymours, Southampton (house)
Bar Fusion, Southampton (various sounds)

Although the events never had the same crowd or type of music, for the faithful few that
followed his progress, it was clear that a distinctive feeling of energy, aggression &
impulsive force was always present.

In 2004 his scope was increased further when he joined the local internet radio station of
www.x-treme.beatz.com. His new found love of European Hardstyle was allowed to be fully
exlpoited & gave people from all around the world an opportunity to not just listen to the
show but interact as well. The station was impressed with this talent & gave him full
reign of a show that lasted long through the night at times! not content with his 2 hour
slot on a sunday evening he would often be allowed to play through four, five & even
six hour sets. This gave him the time to show the full diversity of his genres.

Ranging from:
Dirty House
Electro House
Trance
Hard Trance
Hard House
Hardstyle.

Helping out with local events for the radio station gave him a well known & loved name
until departing in September of 2005.

In November 2005 he ventured into promotions. Tired of the Southampton scene not giving
back enough, himself and Tom Stebbing (Producer Agency) started a high class house & breaks
event at the Fruit Bar. This was something of a fantastic opportunity, even if it was short lived.
The experience he has gained from this means that working closely with clubs and venues in the
future will be more than just being the dj - but making sure success is achieved, as well as
long lived.

2006 has seen GWA increase his local awareness and included playing at venues further
afield such as Bar Blu in Bournemouth and a number of events, both mixing & helping with
organisation for Hands On Records in Portsmouth. This is a link that he would love to
keep very open due to the variation that it offers.

The story continues with a new chapter now starting for sound proj-x v's stimulate at the whitehouse in Southampton. This will see GWA go back to his electro, tough house style with innovative and fore-front guests such as JFK, Darren Tate and Audiodice.

Whatever you do, make sure you keep this name on your clubbing calendar, it will enrich your night!
