Harnessnoise are Si O'Connor and Si Dollar. They have been producing together since late 2005 drawing influences from many of the industry's leading figures and developing increasingly greater production values both technically and creatively. Having been involved in the dance music industry for a number of years as clubbers and DJ’s; these guys have witnessed and been a part of many fashions and eras in club culture and have acquired great knowledge and understanding along the way. It has given them a tremendous drive to want to contribute to the industry and be a firm part of something they believe in and feel so passionate about. With this passion it was a natural progression for the boys to want to move into the field of music production not only to enhance their understanding of music but to enhance themselves as DJ’s too: "Having wanted to produce for so long and then to play something out in a club like Godskitchen, I realise how difficult yet how satisfying it is to bring your ideas to a club and see a reaction. For me there's no better feeling." (Si O'Connor) In the last year the boys have worked hard to churn out many different ideas while progressing in the learning of software and hardware with the intention of become more competent and well-rounded producers. The challenge of producing a track in its entirety from start to finish is what drives Harnessnoise: "I have enjoyed the steep learning curve that producing a track has thrown in front of me, creatively I feel inspired and have a whole host of ideas sketched out for future projects. I love being able to take the ideas and noise from my head and being able to harness it in the most creative way ready to share with those who love and appreciate what we are about." (Si Dollar) Their current styles are drawn from many different avenues of electronic music with strong backgrounds in house and techno: "It's what influences us in both producing tracks and as DJs; what feels right at the time and what is relevant on the night that is important. The current market in electronic music is constantly evolving and there’s so much quality out there so it’s good to draw inspiration from different genres and producers in order to present our own concepts and styles." (Harnessnoise) 2007 has seen Harnessnoise release a number of successful tracks, which has gained them not only support from many djs including Luciano Esse, Laurent Garnier, Grant Nelson, David Vendetta, Paul Thomas, Who Da Funk and Deep Dish but recognition in magazines such as IDJ and DJ Mag as well as across club land and the underground scene. Their schedule for the coming months will see them release a number of tracks, remixes and collaborations with labels including Influential (UK), Starter (Canada), Elektrotribe (Germany), Cristian/Friendly/World Wide Exclusive and Capsuled Records (USA).
