HHUK RaDiO is a UK Gay Internet/Satellite/FM Hard Dance radio station broadcasting 24/7 from studios in London, Birmingham and Oxford. We've been on-air since 1999 and promote new DJ talent from across the UK and beyond. HHUK Recordings is our sister digital record label.

Why a Gay hard dance station?

Hard House started out on the London gay scene way back in 1990 at a club called TRADE. Since then it has branched out and become a popular genre of music in gay/straight clubs across the world. HHUK was started to keep the original sound of the gay Hard Dance scene alive. Gay clubs such as FF @ Turnmills, Fist, Trade @ Turnmills, Sherbet @ Soundshaft and Blue @ Subway City (to name but a few!) were the early pioneers in playing Hard House. The genre became available to the wider clubbing scene in the late 1990s. Strawberry Sundae @ Chunnel Club, Club UK (R.I.P), The Monastery (Torquay), Sundissential (Birmingham) and Insomniacz (Sheffield) were just some of the bigger clubs who brought the Hard House sound to a "straighter" audience in the late 1990s.

We're interested in hearing from any DJs who love their Hard Dance music and want to promote their skills to a bigger audience. DJs and Producers who write their own music are particularly welcome (by WRITE we mean writing original music not remixing someone else's work).

I'm a London based Radio Producer (BBC/ILR) and DJ/Music Producer. I run HHUK RADIO and HHUK RECORDINGS.

I've been DJing on the gay Hard Dance scene since 1993 and have played in the UK, France, Denmark, Holland, Canada and Brazil.

I tend to concentrate more on producing music now. Not just Hard Dance but ambient and traditional music for TV programmes and educational DVDs. You can download my HHUK Hard Dance showcase mix here

Favourite clubs to DJ/club at include the legendary TRADE, sadly now only an occasional event and SHINE in Birmingham for my fix of Harder NRG. TWIST in London is also an excellent event for Hard Dance lovers.
