Since an early age of 14 Kirk Whetton, aka Iridium has had a passion for all things hard in the music scene ranging from hard house, techno, hard trance and genres at the lighter end of the spectrum such as trance. Producing since before he knew about the harder side to music, around the age of 12-13 on an amateur level, he knew instantly he wanted to evolve this. After years of constant track making, Iridium is starting to poke through as a sought after artist the scene has to offer. Whilst mainly taking a liking to the UK hard trance sound, looking up to usual suspects such as Technikal, Guyver, Lee Pasch and Alphazone, Kirk is looking to vary his sound into the other categories of harder music. His influences along the hard house route are producers such as Ingo, Colin Barratt, Nick Sentience and BK.
With numerous tracks and remixes appearing on labels such as Addiction Digital, Carl Nicholson Recordings, GRH Recordings, Digital Assault, Tidy Digital Exclusive and his own imprint High Drive Recordings Kirks production is shining through. Upcoming releases and remix work for labels such as Fevah hard trance, Presence Recordings and Scum Black to name a few will be available in coming months. His recent remix of the classic Tidy hard trance anthem Technikal Presents Carl Nicholson – System Shock, is being played by Technikal himself, Carl Nicholson and Phil Reynolds at the moment. His latest Psy influenced hard trance monster with Carl Nicholson named Rebirth will see a release in coming months.

A&R Work and latest info
Since managing High Drive Recordings from fall 2006, the label has released the major Hard Trance anthem Initiate by the Norwegian hard dance duo Adrenaline Dept, featured on the same release is the remix by man of the moment Trevor McLachlan taking things down the Psy influenced route, has had it played by hard dance superstars Technikal, Steve Blake, Phil Reynolds, Olly Perris, Kym Ayres and Adrenaline Dept themselves. Overwhelming power produced by Iridium and engineered with Colin Barratt on controls has also seen club systems from Carl Nicholson and Adrenaline Dept to name a few. Makrocosm, a recent production has been causing an uproar at trackitdown sitting in the top charts for weeks, a branch from Iridium’s usual UK Hard trance style, keeping the production the same, he changes the riff and pads for the break to create some eerie dark hard trance. Iridium’s latest old school hard house groover Bass Jerkin, has already been getting support from rising stars Scott Foshaw and Chris Shaw, its due for release in August 2007 on the funk side of things at Presence Recordings which will also be run by Scott Foshaw. 2007 will see Iridium take over the Hard Trance imprint at Presence Recordings launch in August, his ability to pick out best of the bunch will be evident come launch later this year.
