J-Bass has been immersed in breakbeat since 1992 when he began his professional DJ career. He started out with a show on London pirate-radio station Touchdown 94.1 FM alongside DJ Sly T (Blackmarket Records) to Breakbeat, Hardcore Rave, Jungle and early Drum and Bass. He got himself a job at Rollover Recording Studios, where he began to learn his trade as a Tape-op. During that time he worked with underground dance music artists such as; Tall Paul, Goldie, Psyne (Good Looking Records), Leftfield, Oui 3, Sly T & Ollie J (Blackmarket/Fluid), Billy Nasty & Dave Wesson (Zoom Records).

In 2004, after being introduced to J Mekka (ibreaks) , he was asked to become one of the leading forces behind ibreaks.co.uk a new and exciting online Breakbeat radio station with his pioneering Born Idle Records Show, every Monday between 8pm-10pm GMT . He worked, and still does work extremly hard attracting vast amounts of international listeners which recently resulted in a nomination for the Breakspoll 2007 Best Radio Show award and a guest appearance on Annie Nightingale's award winning BBC Radio 1 show.

J-Bass is also a founder and now owner of Born Idle Records. He's promoted the Breakbeat sound worldwide, and played to fans in the,; UK, Canada, Spain, France, Germany, Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia and Romania.

His recent productions and collaborations attracting 4 and 5 star reviews in the music press, DJ Magazine, Mofo, iDJ Magazine and this year he’ll be working on remixes from new signings to the Born Idle label from the UK, Canada and the Ukraine. The intention of bringing an international flavour to the London based label.
