Biography

Josh McInnes aka Joshka aka JAKAZiD is a young and exciting emerging hardcore producer and DJ from Portsmouth, UK. Signed to mega-label Nukleuz during 2006 at the age of 18 for his advert-remixing silliness "Cillit Bang", he gained instant notoriety and went on to make appearances on 9 compilation releases in UK and Japan within the space of a year, most notably the first 3 instalments of GTV's Hardcore Adrenaline series that have all had considerable success in the UK album charts. You may have heard his tracks without realising, as he's managed to gain dancefloor and radio play from DJs as Chris Moyles, Scott Mills, Paul Van Dyk, Stu Allan, Marco V and Kutski... to name a few! His own DJing career has also taken off, having played hugely successful DJ gigs in places such as Birmingham, Aberdeen and slightly further afield, Tokyo.

Before the end of 2008, JAKAZiD became an in-house engineer for Nukleuz and is responsible for much of the editing, mixing, remixing and mastering that takes place at their Clapham-based studio. It's here that JAKAZiD has proved he's not just a one-trick pony, by not just producing his trademark style of UK hardcore, but also electro and funky house, trance, scouse house and breakbeat.

2008 has taken off exactly where 2007 finished, with JAKAZiD's reputation continuing to spread by the day. More prolific than ever and with remix work coming from all corners of the globe, JAKAZiD was recruited to co-mix the 2nd CD of "Hardcore Nation: Next Generation" alongside the indestructible Fracus and Darwin, a mix heavily praised for its diversity and exposure to a plethora of undersold musical talents.

Currently, JAKAZiD holds a prestigious monthly spot on KraftyRadio.com (every second Wednesday of the month at 9pm) where he plays diverse, well-constructed sets of UK hardcore interspersed with DnB and breakbeat. These are hour-long bonanzas where anything goes; rolling broken beats and euphoric piano lines are married with dark 4/4 stompers mercilessly.
