A bit about JON-RUSH

Way back in the early nineties Jon was introduced to dance music. He 1st started cutting and mixing from the tapes of raves and the early underground clubs. The results were very crude but it wasn't long before he moved on to vinyl.

Hardhouse was the music that really grabbed him and gave him the passion to really stick it out and practice. Most of his learning was at after parties, with plenty of people listening which gave a confidence to play to people

Jon was soon offered sets at clubs such as Sundissential. Playing next to his idols just gave him a massive appetite to play to a crowd.

Then by chance he met an old friend and they got talking. By chance he was about to re-launch 'LOVE TO BE' and they wanted a hard house DJ to play in the back room.

Jon was soon made a resident, but hard house was not working for L2B, so plans to do something different were common knowledge.

Jon tried his luck and asked for a chance to play house in the main room, eventually they agreed to let him play warm up. Having never played house before it wasn't what you'd call a warm up set, the whole place rocked and he stood out as the best DJ of the night, and he was soon up there with the headline DJ's, playing next to Graeme Park and Tony Walker really fed his passion for playing.

Recently his tastes have moved from funky piano tunes to dirty filthy house. His L2B residency lasted for 3 years before he moved on. Musically his tastes were no longer the same as L2B's music policy so it became time to call it a day.

It was about this time that one of the L2B promoters was starting another night in sheffield, with a music policy more suited to his own style, dirty vocal electro. Jon became a regular at Twisted @ the plug, which from the get go was drawing massive crowds.

Jon proved popular with the sheffield locals and started going back to party's where he made some really good mates. It was with some of these new friends that his next project came from - FUZZY DUCK! Jon and a goup of clubbers started fuzzy to give clubbers what they wanted, and boy did they get it right. Playing nothing but the dirtiest elecro, the fuzzy brand soon grew from and 1st crowd of just 70 people to over 700 in a matter of months!! With Jon leading, the residents soon became popular and developed a reputation of being one of the best set of residents around. So popular some nights there was no need to book guests, the residents could fill the club.

Towards the end of fuzzy's 1st year they came runner up in the Galaxy Nightlife Awards best new night in yorkshire. Jon and one of the other promoters then found out that both their girlfriends were expecting babies, it was agreed that neither would be able to put the in time and effort needed to run fuzzy, so we shut our doors for a while, ending with one of the best parties they'd had. A great note to go out on!!!

Now Jon has taken up residency at Houseproud, another electro night in sheffield, Where Jon and the promoter Russell James have started playing back to back, both great DJ's, both compliment each other perfectly.

Jon is still moving forward in his career, trying his hand at producing, concentrating on Houseproud and planning a big Fuzzy 1 off event. Add this to the guest bookings he keeps getting things couldn't be better right now!!!
