Ive been clubbing for a nearly nine years now; starting at Bakers on Broad Street in Brum followed shortly by my first steps into Godskitchen at the Sanctuary late 1999. I was truly amazed by what I experienced at those early events, with the trance scene reaching an almighty peak around that time. It was also around that time that the Hard House scene started to take off and I went to my first Sundissential event at pulse in February 2000. Sadly that was the last Sundissential at Pulse due to tragic events that night. Over the following years as the trance scene died back I spent most my time at various hard house events around the country, but as the years went on I could see the Hardhouse scene also dieing a slow death. Eventually I pretty much stopped going out; the scene wasn't what it used to be and even the people looked tired now. Hardhouse no longer makes me tick like it used to .....

Well, someone once said to me the scene is like swings and roundabouts - it will peak again someday - I wasnt convinced. Well I am now eating my words as a recent visit to my old home Godskitchen has re lit my trance fire - I am once again excited about the trance scene . the music is fresh, the people are fresh and smiling again, and the hands are back in the air. I never thought I'd hear myself say this - but it feels like it used to! All across the land clubbers are reporting in forums that their local super club is getting it's atmosphere back. After nearly a decade of decline I think you can confidently say trance is back on top - and boy was it worth the wait!
