Born in south London, raised and residing in north London... I’ve been influenced by underground dance music from a very early age and always felt more of a connection to the darker, moodier styles out there. Being surrounded by pirate radio stations my whole life it’s only natural that all my mates/friends/associates were/are DJ’s and MC’s so I spend a lot of time supporting my peeps with their projects and at the same time try to increase my understanding of how thing work behind the scenes and of course build up my own database of contacts.
As a teenager in the early 90’s I was predominantly into Hip-Hop, H&G and hardcore, listening to the sounds of Cypress Hill, N.W.A., The Prodigy and DJ’s Slipmatt, Westwood and EZ to name a few... By 95 I was 15 and amazed by the tracks coming out on the Jungle scene. With tunes like Burial, Pulp Fiction and the still bangin' Helicopter alongside pirate radio stations like Kool fm, Dream fm and RadioActive I was grabbed by Jungle sound.
Started ravin religiously at Club Labyrinth in Dalston (later moved to Tottenham) also going to raves like Slammin Vinyl and United Dance, this is when I realised I wanted to be a DJ. So after a lot of saving I eventually got a pair of decks and practiced my skills all day every day.
By 98 I had fallen head first into the darkest sounds available. Influenced by the Moving Shadow record label along side the likes of Dillinja, Doc Scott and Ed Rush, people who weren’t into D’n’B thought I was crazy... “How can u call that music!?!?!” ...during the summer of 98 I was lucky enough to catch Grooverider @ Ministry of Sound in Ibiza. It was a performance that blew me out of my socks and made me want to be a DJ even more, and from that moment to this, the mighty Grooverider has been my personal DJ icon.
I'm currently hosting a weekly Drum'n'Bass show on www.ukflow.tv supplying the globe with all the biggest and baddest sounds from the world of jungle/D'n'B... Catch me rollin' the beats each and every Monday @ 20:00 til 22:00 (GMT)
Having made numerous guest appearances on a variety of pirate and internet stations based around London together with years of training playing the house party circuit and small bar events I still have as much love for the music today as I did all those years ago...
Most recently played @ 93 Feet East, London in conjunction with Lemon Squeeze for lemondjs.com
