About LABhollywood:

My name's Matt, or Hollywood to quite a few people. I'm an Assistant Manager at Costa Coffe@Merryhill and soon to be progressing through the ranks. By night though I turn into a Hard NRG DJ. I live in in many places, the two you'll find my at most will be at my girlfriends or at my parents in the west Brum ghetto.

You'll probably see me having a cheeky smoothie (nope, not a beer, a smoothie) every now and then at HMV, and you're almost definitely thinking "Shit... Where've I seen him before?". Well it probably was at Costa Merryhill, the dude who was very polite to you and served you your mint hot chocolate, but it wasn't me who put the tampon in it. Though I can probably tell you who did. Just don't add me if you're going to berate me for my alleged debaucherous naivety

I listen mainly to the harder genres, more club related stuff being hard house, hard NRG, hard trance, darker electro influences and breaks/party breaks. Other's that i also spin are funky house and speed garage (mainly for the people who aren't eclectic enough to appreciate the hard-side of dance). I do listen to looooads of bands however, mainly brit-rock genres and indie/post-punk/rock fusions and more abstract musical styles. You probably could call me a musical snob.

The Music:

I suppose the big Jocks worth a mention are Karim, Captain Tinrib, Tony De Vit, Sol Ray, OD404 (Superfast Oz/Munkjack), Baby Doc & SJ, Cortina, The Project, Lab4, Mark Grey, Paul King, RR Fierce, Steve Blake.

And other DJ's/producers I really enjoy listening to like, Kam Pain, Firefox, Tim Stokes, Adam Moore, Ting, DJ FKM, Alex Towse, Riggsy, Mark H.

If you watch MTV Base I hope there's no toilet paper next time you go to wipe your arse after a shit. Math-rock and experimental electronica/alternative music helps me remember there is hope outside of a studio full of synthesisers. Chacarron by El Chombo, on the other hand, doesn't really help.
