A bit about Large-Music

Located in the vibrant city of Chicago, Large Music holds a place in history as one of the most influential and popular dance music labels in the world. Our mission is to celebrate the joy of modern urban living through rhythm and sound; we delight in exploring and combining a wide variety of musical genres such as House, Electro, Downtempo, Jazz, and even Salsa. This unique vision has given us a consistent history of widespread critical and commercial success throughout our 12 year run. Our impressive roster of established artists such as Kerri Chandler, DJ Sneak, Miguel Migs, DJ Rasoul, Roy Davis Jr., and Derrick Carter have all contributed to the sound that is simply known by music lovers as “Large”.

Collectively, the Large Music catalog has been licensed in over 23 countries and has appeared on over 300 compilations including Mark Farina’s Mushroom Jazz, Naked Music’s Nude Dimensions and Ibiza ’s prestigious Café Del Mar Series. Our seminal release “Gabriel” by Roy Davis Jr. reached the UK Top Twenty in the fall of 1998 and was featured in the critically acclaimed Alvin Ailey Dance Theatre World Tour. In the summer of 2002, MTV featured tracks from the album The Rhythm Lounge on the Chicago edition of The Real World series.

We have recently launched an aggressive campaign to enter the commercial CD market with 3 back to back releases entitled The Rhythm Lounge , Electro Jazz 1.0 , and Sound Deluxe. We seek the sophisticated music lover who has an appreciation for eclectic sounds and shares a positive outlook for the future of dance music. With a desire to maintain our underground credibility, we are now poised to forge ahead in the global mainstream dance market culture.
