The Legopops adventure sprouted for fun from meetings, reunions and passions.
Francesco e Filippo, aka Filo Mena, best mates since the university, moved to London for work and that was where their love for music and for the clubbing culture started to develop. Together they hanged out in most of London hotspots for clubbers. In a matter of days from being clubbers they got into organizing house parties themselves; in a matter of hours their parties in a small back garden were hosting and entertaining more than 100 friends, with Francesco welcoming the guests and Filippo delighting them with his mac-music, using his inseparable G4.
The time arrived when they couldn’t manage to ‘buy’ the neighbours tolerance by offering them delightful Italian delicacies and to ‘squeeze’ the partygoers in their four walls, and they decided to change their strategy by turning to small clubs, equipped with a good sound system and featuring cleaning service for the day after.
They once exposed the idea as a joke to Enrico, dearest university mate, great vinyl and house music lover. Quicker done than said, the crew expanded adding the third LegoMan; the LegoPops name and logo sourced by the blend of these three minds.
The initial parties were organized in Old Street and Brick Lane clubs in East London with occasional dates “outside the walls” in Italy, home country for the three organizers. Each party involves meticulous research leading to discovering new and attractive locations, where non-stop evolving experiences are offered.
The LegoPops spirit is simple and genuine and is the result of the wish to enjoy, to get to know new people and to dance, expression of a youthful happiness and carefree mind … common traits for the three partners.
Internet and its tools are the advertising channel, trustworthy messengers of the invites to friends who then “pop” the invite each to their own friends. Hassle free.. the word of mouth makes of LegoPops a brilliant, sparkling and “idiot-free” scene.
The djs, the vjs and the choreographers are all friends, who put their enthusiasm and contributed to the great success at the first party, organized in January 2007, with more than 400 participants. At each of the LegoPops rendezvous since, between Italy and the UK, the formula stays the same: “partying people, positive vibrations and pure fun…let’s dance!”
