My Biog:

In 1995 I started going out in Stafford, my local town, to the legendary Swoon on a Friday night and heard Graeme Park, Jeremy Healy, Dave Seaman, Jon Pleased and other big names at that time. Very soon I wanted to mix records like they did. Being young and naïve I bought two hi-fi decks with no pitch control and started buying records. After I realized why I could not get the beats in time I invested in some proper decks!

In 1997 I went to Liverpool to university and started playing in bars and clubs including The Lemon Lounge and Le Bateau. In the summer of 1998 I gained a residency at Props in Stafford. Initially I warmed up on Saturday night and played on Sunday. From 2000, having finished at university (only a 3rd class degree but thousands of records to my name!) I was resident on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and promoted my own House night once a month on a Wednesday. I played a broad style of dance to give a different theme to each night. During this time I had other residencies at Brassingtons, Newcastle-under-Lyme, at Evolution in Leeds and played at other venues in Stafford, Derby and back in Liverpool, promoting my own night.

In 2002 Props closed and I was left with one night a week at a Yates. Playing commercial bobbins to teenyboppers was not my idea of fun and I left and decided I should get a proper job to make ends meet! I still played at parties and promoted on a much smaller scale.

At the end of 2005 I could not contain my passion for djing any longer and started to get back into finding the music I loved, funky house! The decks came back out and I started playing out again at bars and events in Bradford where I now live.

At the start of 2007 I decided to leave my well-paid management job and along, with my wife, spent the summer in Ibiza, djing and taking time to start production. I quickly gained a residency at The Corner Bar and played sets at Viva, Basement and Hush. I entered the Es Paradis DJ Competition and was voted into the semi final of 16 djs by radio listeners from over 100 djs that entered. This led to a residency at Es Paradis playing Funky House and US Garage. During the summer I also promoted pool parties at the Ibiza Mar Hotel.

Now based back in Bingley, near Bradford, I play across the spectrum of house with lots of vocals and accapellas using 3 or 4 decks (dj booths allowing) to give the crowds I play to an uplifting house selection. I learnt the hard way in commercial venues to get the most uneducated crowds dancing and I put all the years experience into giving people a house party like no other!

In 2008 I have played at Mansion, Harrogate, including at the notorious Pink Panther After Party, Strata in Skipton, NV, Pics, Tubs and Wyldes, all in Bury and Tokyo's in Huddersfield.

The second half of 2008 also sees the launch of the funkandthat brand with events in planning for Bury, Lancs, and closer to home in Bradford. Although leaning towards funky and soulful house and electro each event or residency will promote a diverse range of styles across the dance music spectrum and will as far as possible feature 2 or more rooms of aural excitement. As they say: watch this space....
