Hello beautiful clubbers... well about me... my first proper introduction to a club was the Mezzanine in Wolverhampton aged 15, which quickly became my home from home. Each weekend I would be there regardless of whether the line up included a Paul van Dyk 6 hour set or little more than the usual residents. I would dance my little feet off to the likes of Brandan Block, Sonique, Judge Jules, Tall Paul, Lisa Lashes, Alex Gold, Carl Cox, Scott Bond, Guy Ornadel and Seb Fontaine. From there I went on to Godskitchen at the Sanctuary and the Canal Club, back in the day when Boy George was resident and glamorous transvestites took your coat from you at the doors before ushering you through to a sparkly dance floor where huge beds with satin sheets awaited... however my true love for trance evolved with my first visit to the white isle at the tender age of 16. Never before had I felt the pure euphoria that rushed through me whilst floating on a podium in Amnesia. It was from then on that I was smitten with trance.
I returned to Eivissa a year on in 2000 for another bite of the juicy apple and I wasn't disappointed. Nothing can compare to the atmosphere of sunset strip as the sun sleeps during a set outside Cafe Mambo, cocktail in hand. Settling down into a relationship soon meant I was going clubbing less and less and only splurging out for special occasions such as Gatecrasher at GC1 and the NEC. This year however my closest friends have brought me back to the clubbing scene, mainly in the Midlands, and I have recently discovered the delights of Passion & Stompy Storm at the Emporium... along with a couple of memorable visits to Air, the most recent being for unforgettable sets by Above & Beyond and Super8 and Tab. Having returned to the clubbing scene I can't believe I ever allowed myself to leave in favour of funky house! What was I thinking?!?! Well fuck it, who cares, I am back to stay, and will relish in the delights of this beautiful music they call trance.
