Lidia De Luca aka Miss DL is one of Brighton’s premier female DJ’s.
She arrived in the UK in 1999 from Italy and was immediately drawn to the energy and vibrancy of the Brighton club scene. Once Lidia had honed her skills to perfection, she was quickly approached to become resident in 2004 at “Fused” which ran for 3 years. Two years ago she started her own night “Turned Up High” as both co-promoter and resident at various venues in and around Brighton. During this time she also played at Ocean Rooms, Honey Club, and The Church, fast building a reputation as one of Brighton’s most innovative, groundbreaking and consistent DJs.
3000 parties later Lidia De Luca (Aka Miss DL) is now resident for “Gorgeous” at Digital (formerly the Zap Club) and is a regular at the well renowned Pussycat Club. She is also resident for “Urban Junkies” at Water Margin / Kabuki, and new nights with Sonic Safari starting in Brighton in April 2009.
With a string of high profile bookings under her belt she has also played along-side the likes of D Ramirez, King Roc and Michael Gray (of Full Intention fame), Dave Angel, Steve Mac and many others.
She has an unrivaled ability to read the crowd and counts her Influences to be as diverse as hard rock, Indie, Drum ‘n’ Bass, Booka Shade, Chris Lake, and Joris Voorn. Mixing up her sets with various styles from upfront house to Techno, she always takes the dance floor by storm. This is one female DJ who has won massive respect amongst the Brighton scene and is only destined for greater things to come.
With gigs confirmed in Brighton (Miss Moneypennys & Pushca) and new mixes on radio stations worldwide in 2009, some new production and remix work, things are looking hot-hot-hot for Lidia De Luca.
