Many of you will recognise me but how many of you actually know me... I have a few identities and am recognised by many for different reasons. I started out in my young years as a avid lover of underground music. When at school myself and Life Long Best friend Kieran (Dj Kanga) would usually be found at the back of the class or playground seeing who had the loudest walkmans. Our music selection varied from Hardcore, Jungle, House & Garage. You could be certain to find a number of extra cassettes in my pockets, this is where i earned the name TDK. As the years went on our love for underground music grew stronger and stronger. Kanga was working his way through the Under 18's ranks and was becoming a regular face in all the local clubs and disco's. It was then we discovered the need for a disco in our local area. This is where St Georges Church Disco was discovered. Word spread quickly the monthly event was definately the place to be seen. Kanga being the Dj and Mc at the time was growing in popularity and this is really where the story began. From the young age of 15 we became regulars on the Pirate Radio scene doing guest shows until Kanga landed his 1st regular slot on Smoove 104 fm. These were the good old times i have heard some say...? Treking across London at 6am on Sunday Morning isnt really what i call fun however this is where the stripes were earned. After a 6 Month spell we moved to Passion Fm along with our Good Friend F.E, aka a number of different names. Here we held the Breakfast Shows on Saturday & Sunday. The years passed and we soon became regulars at nightclubs although we were under age we felt a sense of belonging. This is where i met now a very good friend Arkoss. Still attending school we thought we would give what we enjoyed so much a go for ourselves. We started by hosting a number of Charity events in conjuction with our school for the 6th Formers and invited the girls from the local schools. The nights were a huge success and we continued them regulary. Whilst completing my A-levels and spending my weekends in various nightclubs i got my first taste of club promoting. Pure Old Skool was about to launch in November 2000 and Arkoss asked me if i was intrested in helping out with the promotion. I spent many of my nights (when i should have been studying) out and about flyering and postering and getting a real taste of the work and graft involved in promoting. After the night was a great success i felt something which i knew would stick with me. I can only describe it as a 'Buzz' After leaving school and surprisingly passing my a-levels it was decision time. Kanga was happily working for the bank and persuing his djing and i decided to go to Uni. Being a keen Rugby player i was convinced to persue my playing whilst studing in Twickenham. My time at uni playing rugby was throughly enjoyable (broken tooth, fractured fingers and a cracked collar bone) it was time to call it a day. I continued my studies and decided Music was definately the road for me. I travelled home every week and spent much of my spare time working with Arkoss and persuing my passion 4 music. TBC
