hi, im originally from Norwich, UK. but now reside in Camden...I love music with a break beat and heavy bass especially drum and bass, jungle,i'm also into hip hop, breaks.....dub reggae... jazz and funk, well most things..
i first got into drum and bass jungle in 1994@ dreamscape14.. and it all started there!!! aquired decks in 96.. practised like hell... studied at a Access to Music(2002) to learn more about djing and music production..
As my confidence grew gigs came my way playing to general Audiences at Norwich's Lord mayors Precession(7,000cap.)and King st Festival(10,000). After these gigs Ninelives approached Po Na Na for his own night, they booked the mighty Grooverider,(0ct/02)Ninelives promoted the event and played a 2.5 hr support set!!! SUBTONIC was born!!!
Ninelives ran his own night Subtonic, at Po Na Na, for 3 plus years, and was involved within the promotion team and responsible for bringing the likes of Krafty Kuts, Scratch Perverts, Layo and bushwacker,Barry Ashworth, Jon Carter..
As well as representing for Po Na Na. Ninelives made appearances for other events like Rumble, Beats Breaks and Stuff, Bounce is a member of the DSOB sound system, he also hosted a SUBTONIC tent at the vw Whitenoise Festival,2004 and as a guest dj in 2005. He produced his own radio show on Norwich's futurefm.co.uk and, and now on lifefm.co.uk.
After years of hard work and determination Ninelives was awarded with the "Outline Magazines, Young Musician of the East Awards", Leading DJ" in 2004.
His style is across the board,deep rolling beats and bass, infused with jazzy/funk and dub Vibes, teaseing classics, doubling up, using effects and dropping in the rougher stuff to full effect !! Behind the decks he has presence and energy, injecting creativity into his sets with his technical skills, also having the ability to read dance floors, with good track selection, playing old and new.
Ninelives has been whipping up dance floors in Norwich for 7 years, playing at most major venues like the Waterfront, Po Na Na, Lava & Ignite and many smaller venues in Norwich, doing warm up duties for the likes of Andy C, Roni Size,Grooverider,Fabio,Bailey,Zinc, Goldie, EZ Rollers ,Friction,Q-Project and Dj Marky and has featured on line ups which included many heavy weight djs and MCs..
