Professor J, or Jay as he's known to his friends is an 21 year old Electro House DJ from East London. Jay started off DJing as a garage DJ in 2002 when he was just 15 years old playing at house parties and illegal raves around London. As the garage scene all but died out Jay hung up his headphones and his turntables gathered dust as schoolwork became a priority. Influenced in 2004 by friend and established soulful house DJ, Funkie P, Jay returned to his turntables and began to spin a selection of soulful house and disco. As he immersed himself more and more in the up and coming house scene Jay moved to spinning a more up-beat mix of underground funky and deep house, once again playing predominantly at house parties. In mid-2006 Jay became good friends with another established DJ, Miss Crazy D. Through her Jay discovered electro house and after attending parties such as 'Girls on Top' and 'Trailer Trash' decided to concentrate his focus on spinning dark and dirty tech and electro. Since then Jay has become a well known face at many of the popular electro parties around London. After deciding to let his full time job take a backseat to his DJing Professor J has played out around the Capital at places such as Heaven, Dust, Edge and SEone and has some exciting opportunities lined up for 2008. You can catch Professor J live on London's Leading House music station - Unknown FM - every Tuesday night from midnight, on 108.0FM or live streaming on UnknownFM.net. Demo CDs being sent out at the moment are electro only but soulful, deep or funky house demos can be made up if requested.
