Artist Bio
Sam Longdon (aka Spongey) got into dance music at a very early age, when he first had his first stereo and his first CD which Fatboy Slim. At age of 12 he started to learn the basis of music and was producing his own music on his computer using dance ejay. Doing this came onto him mixing very soon using caret DJ mixer on his computer where I used to make tape and play them to him mates and from this he knew he wanted to become a DJ. At the age of 14 he brought his first pair of turn tables and mix with him got into learning the basics of music at a early age and knowing how to mix he was into the spin of things (quite literally). His collection started too built up each week where he would buy a record with his pocket money. At age of 16 He Was Djing at house parties for his mates and started to build his reputation up as a DJ. At age of 17 He had this first DJ slot in a competition in the cock hotel in Ripley which was a great opportunity for him to meet and play alongside of other DJ’s and to win the price with was a residency for the DJ to make there own night. He won the competition and took the residency which become a funky house night every Thursday night. He has now played in many different clubs/bars over the years. His DJ sets take in all Elements of House from Techno, Tech House, Minimal House, Electro House, Electro Clash, Funky House, Soulful House, Breaks. When Mixing I believe that you don't have to limit yourself and always play safe the whole thing about being an artist and a dj is to be creative and keep things interesting its not all about playing a chart you found on beatport or a track-list on radio 1, this is where you can get real dj's who actually know there music and can see what will work and who dare to put a track on which no body has heard and be creative. This is the skill in djing and this is what makes good dj.
