A bit about Simon-Vegas

BREAK FAST BROS RESIDENCIES (monthly unless stated) - CK's Dirty Flirty, Disturbance, Smashed, Shine (weekly), Motion, Beat Check

Established hard NRG DJ Simon Vegas was captivated by his friend Justin Normus' breakbeat sound in the Summer of 2005 a year later in 2006 they decided to join together and take their combined sound from the bedroom to the dance floor, and the Break Fast Bros were formed.

With initial support from the awesome CyberKitten's house outfit DirtyFlirty and spinning their first set out together on 22nd July (DirtyFlirty room @ B2T) the bookings started to roll in. Twisted Filth, who's promoter James Mozelewski knew Simon as a Hard DJ quickly got them involved, and Funk Deluxe were the next to latch onto the pair. After the twosome woo'd crowds at Billy Bunters 'Love Muzik' and CyberKitten home shows, Disturbance gave them a regular slot and a high profile booking at GateCrasher on August bank holiday lead to a residency from the launch at Leicester's hottest new night - Smashed.

Taking their eclectic mix of funky and hardcore breaks, old skool, and electro to house orientated dance floors across the country, the BFB's went from strength to strength and impressed clubbers and promoters alike with the unique sound and style, being offered residencies at CyberKitten for DirtyFlirty as well as it's tours, Disturbance in Rugby and receiving regular slots at Funk Deluxe, and sets at Funky Moths and Birmingham's Shine. A weekly residency at Shine followed where, alongside fellow ressies they helped develop a new concept of breakbeat, electro and techno for their upstairs room. Further London sets came in from Torque Soundsystem's Warped and the legendary Twist for their Terminal afterparty.

Things didn't stop there, and over the colder months an array of bookings flooded in at established nights like Electric Boogaloo and BeatCheck (their first breaks set in their home town of Milton Keynes - which was turned into a residency) as well as regular slots at all of their residencies and continued guests slots for Funk Deluxe and The Torque Soundsystem.

December is the party season and for the BFB's this was no different, with 15 sets in little over 4 weeks including a debut at Polysexual Carbon Lounge and Contagious Clubwear's historic Boxing Day bash, the year was crowned with a hectic NYE, playing the 2 hour midnight set at Shine in Birmingham, which was followed by a peak time set in Storm's White Room for their sell out new year party...

In just 6 months they have burst onto the scene, and gone from unknown DJ's in the genre to an established duo, respected in the industry by DJ's, clubbers and promoters alike for their energetic and original sets, their passion for the music, crowd interaction and ability to blow the roof of f the place at the drop of a needle, but more importantly their continued commitment to having as much fun behind the decks as the revellers in front. Their years of friendship mean they have a chemistry behind the decks that can't be manufactured, and as their sound continues to develop, their fan base continues to build.

With such an eventful, and all in all crazy 2006 which caught everyone by surprise, it's hard to believe that 2007 could be any better, but already Clubbed Up, the team behind Clubbed Up Radio have taken them on board for their UK tours, they've smashed it up at the mighty CyberKitten, Shine's Sundays, the massive Flava-Aid charity bash, the east-midlands finest E:volve and even back on home turf at BeatCheck (with a closing set backed up with the vocal talents of the UK's No 1 beatboxer, Beardy Man)...

With a diary filling right through 'til Spring and even more high profile bookings being pencilled in, residencies Smashed and Disturbance both going on tour, Ibiza dates being confirmed, studio work being started and a record label and following tour in the pipeline; 2007 looks to be a great year for the Break Fast Bros, and if you haven't caught them yet, then now is most definitely the time... See you at the front!

The Break Fast Bros would like to thank, for their continued support... Rachel 'backbone' Lynds, Yojo and Colin (CyberKitten), Vince (Funk Deluxe), Lydia, Lackers, Pikey and the crew at Smashed, Kimmi and the Disturbance massive, Tony, Si, Drunk DJ and the rest of Shine lot, Danny 'n Steve at Clubbed Up, Ian Eyeball, Macey from Torque, Boogaloo Shorty, The BeatCheck crew, James Moz, Amy D for helping make it happen, Kewie for just being Kewie, Kimpossible, Laura Sausage, Kelvin Kaos n Horse, Fil, Tom, and all the other DJ's, clubbers and promoters that have supported us over the last 6 months (know we must have missed someone) - we salute you!
