Simon Ogden / SiyTek Biography
DJ - Production - Live Performance

Simon Ogden is rapidly becoming recognized for his multi-tallent within todays dance music and production scene. Better known as SiyTek, he has spent almost his whole life dedicated to computer music, DJing and performing. Simon started his career taking a vast array of knowledge gained in his bedroom studio with multiple residencies in his hometown of Cheltenham which eventually led to a huge amount of experience and a gig at almost every club locally under his belt. Very quickly Simon wanted more than just local recognition, landing a job with Roland, legends in the dance and hip-hop scene. Pioneering such technologies as the TB-303, responsible for the creation of acid house and found in dance floor anthems such as Josh Wink "Higher State of Consciousness," Roland is a huge name and gave Simon the perfect solution to his dream. With this international company on his side, Simon was able to fulfill his ambition of building a studio, the home of all his new pioneering performances. 2007 saw the end to his 2 year involvement with Roland and a new beginning, it was time for him to dedicate all his time and effort to his music and performance.

Simon has 5 nightly resident spots a week across various venues in the south west of the UK at present and has performed a multitude of highly notable performances further a field. Most recently Siytek teamed up with Robinson to create an 'audio crime fighting duo' pledging to rid the world of predictable boring entertainment and hit the Cream tour performing along side and with the likes of Sonique, Shy FX, Wideboys, Gramma Funk (Groove Armarda's vocalist), Macella Woods from Out Of Office and others. Not only did they play host to the party and storm the dance floors with their technical live mash-up mix played of the mighty Macbook Pro and other space-aged music kit, they included an element of futuristic live percussion. Also under his Siytek's belt, a fantastic percussion and keytar performance lit up the stage at Turnmills in central London and drew lots of attention and without hesitation the club requested Simon to come back and perform again. 2007 also saw Simon's first gig playing percussion while doing a DJ slot in Ibiza at Es Vive, once again a first for Simon, he wanted to push the boundaries and show the world with dedication and practice it is possible to keep one ear on the decks and mix while simultaneously playing percussion. His skills also took him over to Greece to play as the headlining name at Club Lido, one of Thessaloniki's biggest venues at the end of 2007. He also teamed up with Neil Stone, aka Rezonate to perform his first even joint live act, and once again the room was at capacity and mesmerized all night by the only electronic live act to truly play instruments in the performance including three keyboards and percussion. Once again Simon's live act has been requested at multiple venues and Simon is currently planning a possible UK festival tour with Rezonate as well as some solo live act performances at club venues.

Simon is no stranger to the turntables either. With gigs in central london under his belt, playing everything from the most up to date hip-hop and RnB to the best floor filling house, trance and electro tracks, Simon is capable of entertaining any crowd at any time. Gigs have included vinyl sets, CDJ/CD deck sets and more recently he has been pioneering new solutions for mixing mp3s using an array of MIDI controllers to not only achieve effects and mixing not possible any other way but allowing him to transport many more tunes to a gig with him. Not only is he performing with new DJ techniques drawing much attention, he has the capability to download tunes on the spot if wireless internet is available at a gig and also receive tunes from clubber's mobile phones, memory sticks and CDs adding whole new dimension to the crowd being able to interact with the DJ.

"SiyTek," a combination of Simon and Technology first appeared on a flyer back in 2004 when Simon warmed up for Lab4 using a sampler and MIDI trigger in his all vinyl DJ slot. Amazing crowds with his superior technical skills not even seen by todays headline acts has driven him to invent amazing new performances that over the past few years have begun to earn SiyTek his title and reputation for being a highly energetic performer bringing a lot more than just music to the stage.
