MC Spyder made his first appearance in Holland nearly 7 years ago. He was one of the people to introduce the U.K. Garage sound to Amsterdam and later, to other parts of Holland and the rest of Europe.
MC Spyder started out on local pirate radio stations in the UK . He had been in much demand on the Dutch Underground Garage scene since 1997, then he decided to settle here.
‘Groovemaster’ Johnson’s Bubble Club followed in 1998 which slowly grew towards succes. MC Spyder has been a resident since day one! His lyrics could also be heard as a resident MC on Sunday night in the legendary club ROXY, Speedfreax , Dance Valley, Extrema ,Drum Rhythm Festival and many more are among a few events where he has performed.
Spyder has become an all-round MC participating in the hosting of radio shows and making voice overs for commercials on radio & TV. In 2001 he joined the group ‘ Spark’, their single: ‘I dream of You baby’ was a huge success on the underground in the Netherlands and the feedback by respected DJ’s in the UK were very positive, to say the least. Now MC Spyder is set to release his second single in october 2005 together with DJ Olav Basoski "Waterman” “Bam Bam".
At the moment MC Spyder is busy working on a solo project alongside regular international bookings. Nowadays, he also has regular bookings alongside DJ’s. such as Timo Maas, Dave Clarke, Ben Sims, Joey Negro, Benjamin Bates, Alter Ego LIVE, to name a few.
MC Spyder has also now started to show his skills on the turntables he plays a mix of mellow house ,UKG, USG,and Breakbeat he goes under his real name DJ Symon TyTus, you can find him playing all around Amsterdam. He is now busy with the infamous Vinyl Crew which consists of a group of dj's who only play vinyl. They are getting alot of respect from dj's, mc's and people in the dance industry all across the world! DJ Tytus in now resident at the SupperClub (Amsterdam) every first friday of the month, and every other saturday he's a resident DJ at the Escape Delux. You can also catch DJ Tytus (and the full Vinyl Cru) at the Arc and Concept every Tuesday night in Amsterdam from 8pm till 3am.
MC Spyder loves his MC-ing, but…it’s extremely important not to chat too much on the mic….let the music do the talking and let the MC complement the music and add towards the party vibe…he says! Spyder’s wordplay has grown to become highly original through his exceptional emphasis in words & rhythmical mannerisms. Spyder had benefitted because of his Jamaican descent; a twist of Jamaican ‘Patois’ combined with a typical London accent had added to his originality. Eventually his goal is to create an original sound- The Spyder's Touch!!!!
