Dance music can often be a journey for any one artist alone, some can stick to one particular pigeon hole and encourage the development of such a scene for most or in fact of all their professional lives, there are others however, that embrace all it’s facets and are both fit for and passionate about exploring all of it’s possibilities. Stuart Donaghy is one of those artists and has so far managed to cut out an already healthy looking living from doing just that alone.
Stuart first discovered dance music at an early age and it was clearly love at first sight. Within a matter of a few years, Stuart began mixing selections of trance, house and hard dance and developed a taste for the thrill of the beat match. Taking this as his first step on the way to a much larger adventure, Stuart began busying himself with the production of mix tapes and CD’s of varying genres and getting them circulated to local party promoters, his intention to play for as many free parties, pubs, bars, clubs and up and coming brands as possible to garner a reputation for himself as the only three key things he truly wanted to be recognised for at this early stage – keen, reliable, professional and of course, to provide all the ingredients to make the very foundations shake of any party he played at.

Quickly building a CV of guest slots and appreances, Stuart fashioned himself a to-do list of some of the UK and Ibiza’s biggest parties and went travelling around to watch and learn how his peers do dance floor damage, Paul Van Dyk, Judge Jules, Ferry Corsten, Marco V, the very pioneers of our generations thriving club scene. He took in parties such as Creamfields, Homelands, Global Gathering, Gatecrasher, Slinky and Godskitchen all of which were quite literally the forerunners of the early millennial clubbing phenomena, to observe, note and soak up.

As a result of this, Stuart has now, with the application of perseverance, had the pleasure of sharing a booth with such prolific artists as, Judge Jules, Lee Haslam, M.I.K.E. (Push), Jordan Suckley, John '00' Flemming, Dav Gomrass, Ben Nicky, Davey Asprey and that’s just the short list. Taking his experiences and adding a devout creativity to carve his own path, at the dawning of a bright and vibrant new decade for music expanded his own horizons further. As a result, he had a regular radio show on internationally acclaimed Slinky FM before it changed to a on-demand service recently this year and it was expressing such dedication and passion that turned Slinky A&R Lee Haslam’s head and… in the early part of 2009 Stu, along with visionary producer and engineer Jason Holloway (here working under his trance guise as Karl Allen), teamed up together for their first signing to the Slinky label, ‘Activ8’.

The track – an energetic, yet uplifting slice of beautifully crafted trance genius was an instant smash, with various remixes undertaken receiving full support Worldwide from such icons as Paul Van Dyk, Paul Oakenfold and others of a similar international ilk. For Stuart, a dream had been realised, his work was being supported, played and recognised by the very people he aspired to be. This led to a signing to Slinky Digital adding to his repertoire and strengthening an already existing relationship with Slinky that would later include Stuart’s skills as a promoter also being tested as he then furthermore was added to the promotion team behind the legendary brand.

Now working with Slinky as a solo artist (as well as in coalition with Karl Allen), releasing his own material and remixes for other artists, promoting the brand, Stuart’s own aspirations to run his own digital imprint are starting to come to fruition as 2010 see’s him take over as Label Manager & A&R of Digital Remedy, as well as seeing him signed to Abstract Recordings & remixing for Mondo Records & SPX Digital. Of course, hand in hand with this goes an ever provident DJ schedule, seeing Stuart now play for Slinky’s epic parties and also appearances for well reputed party agents such as Goodgreef and Atomik, with more already on the horizon, marking a very prominent decade for this fledgling superstar in the making. Proving quite literally, that dreams can come true with hard work and dedication, Stuart Donaghy is a shining example of bedroom to main room genius… welcome to his World.
