Dj Profile Stuart Banks
Stuart Banks is currently director of the American Pie organisation, which specialises in quality House music in the UK.
Stuart’s love of Jazz/ Funk and soul would eventually see him take to the decks to play the music he loved, playing at all of the underground parties in and around the Cambridge area the high point being a guest spot at the then legendry Caister soul weekender.
A new musical direction opened for Stuart in the form of House music. He became a regular DJ at illegal warehouse parties in London and Cambridge including some of the biggest parties of those times Energy, Raindance, World Party and 2000 AD. 1990-93 would see Stuart and his brother organise a party that would open the door for many legal house parties in the East of England, ‘ Eclipse’ every top house DJ played hear Carl Cox Paul (trouble) Anderson Groove Rider to name a few. As house music moved into weekly clubs Stuart became in demand as a club DJ in the East of England holding residences at To To’s Clacton, Colchester, Great Yarmouth and the well renowned Club UK London. 1993-97 The brother partnership continued as Kink in Ipswich became the biggest and longest running Saturday night house music club night holding 2000 people, again many big name DJ’s played hear the likes Alex P and Brandon Block played would be regular faces.
In 2000 Stuart secured another residency at the legendry Stately Affair All day parties at the exclusive Chillford Hall and played alongside guest DJ’s Brandon Block, Bobby and Steve, Daniel Divoli 1000 of the UK’s finest clubbers travelled from all over the UK.
Stuart currently has an exclusive contract with the Fez and Po Na Na. On the first Saturday of every month the American Pie organisation hosts its premier residency at the Fez in Cambridge. Past big name guest Dj’s at the club include Louis vega, Matt Caseli, Norman Jay, Bobby and Steve, Jon Carter Jim ‘Shaft’ Ryan and Joey Negro.
The future is looking good for Stuart as well as his commitments in the UK there’s the return of the Stately Affair parties, an American Pie UK tour planned as well as international appearances in the Funky Room of Pacha, Ibiza
